Bidrage med feedbackWe had some time to kill Poschiavo and wait for Bernina Express to pick us up again. Before we had already searched the reviews online for this place, and they were generally good. We noticed that some local workers there always have a good sign. We had some pasta of the day and a pizza, and both were good. The pizza was very tasteful. I love this kind of up to earth places that just focus on giving you delicious food. That's one of them. The waitress was friendly, service was fast. If I ever come back to Poschiavo, I'm sure I'll stop there.
Stuck during the Corona Lockdown after the departure from the Bernina Express it seemed like this small city had limited options. Luckily, not only is the restaurant on the street from the station, they made the best pizza we had in CH. It seems that they have a big and tasty menu in normal times, but in the end it was just pizza. We're just glad they were open!
The aromas emanating from the kitchen were divine but unfortunately it was only mid morning and I just had time for a cup of coffee before my train set off back up the mountain towards Alp Grum and Pontresina. But I was told the food was superb in this little cafe right outsdide the station: it was December and I had my coffee out on the terrace in warm sunshine! Lovely friendly staff behind the food counter.

We arrived in Poschiavo on the Bernina Express from Chur to have some emphasis on our journey to St. Moritz. This railway station restaurant gets its name from the train station. This was a perfect place for us to take a bite, take a quick walk around the city and catch our train within the hour. Lunch on the terrace with spectacular views of the mountains was simply blessed! It was a sunny, crunchy day and we enjoyed sitting outside. They also have a garden area that could be cool for large groups or evening drinks. We ordered the Affettato Misto Chalet (mixed cut dry meat plate) and a spaghetti Bolognese. The meat plate was nice, but the pasta was bland. The service was good. It looks very popular with station workers who have all stacked here for lunch! It is always a good sign when locals often eat. They also have an ice cream on the outside and it is probably the most picturesque place in Switzerland that we enjoyed a dessert.
