Gin Olive - Portsmouth

We booked and glad we did as customers were being turned away. Great food and and pre 6 o’clock 241 cocktails. Staff were excellent and welcoming. Will certainly be returning.

The customer service at this restaurant is terrible. The staff were rude and unhelpful. Our family had booked a table for four at 13.00, but we needed to change it to 14.30 due to travelling. We had confirmation of the change, but when we arrived on time, the waitress claimed our booking was not there. Despite showing her proof, she accused us of being late and had given away our table. The manager was even more rude and confrontational, embarrassing us in front of everyone. It was unacceptable how they treated us for a mistake their system made. I would not recommend wasting your time or money at this establishment.

Two of us ordered the steak and stilton pie. It looked great but we both thought it was tasteless and disappointing. Service was slow. All in all an expensive and unimpressive experience

Had my monthly catch up with friends and we had the best time at Gin and olive. The food was immense! The ambience was great. Have booked to go again twice more with diff friends. You won’t be disappointed give it a try!

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. We ordered 2 pasta dishes that we tried to send back as they were cold, watery and had no flavour. The waitresses were lovely and explained that they tried to take them off the bill but that the owner refused and said we had to pay for them even though we hadn’t eaten them. I asked to speak to the owner as the pasta dishes were £17 each and completely inedible, however he refused to come speak to us so we had no choice but to pay for the bill. Overall the experience was awkward and disappointing and we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
