A Lota De Alvor - Portimão

Have been going to this restaurant for the past few years, and its always been great, however the service this time around definitely wasn't the best. Had I not taken into consideration the other times, my review would've been 1-2 stars. Firstly, we got there at around 8.40pm and asked if there was place for the 3 of us to sit (already expecting to be put on a waiting list, as per usual) and we got told it was a 30 minute wait, OK, nothing out of the ordinary. Unfortunately, we were seated at 9.50pm, over an hour of waiting. We ordered right away, and, 50 minutes later, our food came. Now, this is, in my opinion, not great customer service. Had we been told we would have to wait for 1+ hour, we would've come back another say, but not only that, our food also took an outrageous amount of time to come. Now, don't get me wrong, the food is great, it always has been, but after 2 hours of waiting, it really does not taste that good.. So, if you come across this review, I'd recommend you book a table (i think you can only book till 8pm, im pretty sure) and if not, then be prepared to wait! Hopefully others have a better experience than I did this time around.

Best restaurant in Alvor, by far. The seafood is incredible. They also have some great wines and gins. Get the fresh sea bass or the grilled octopus, you will not regret it

Fab dinner at Alota highly recommend if visiting Alvor. Shared oysters and grilled prawns, as well as sea bass catch of the day. Excellent value, and superb staff great experience all round.

Two times in 2 weeks here! excellent fresh eating of the day, an amazing seabed plate (highly recommended) and other delicious dishes. oysters and tigers on the grill, real delicacies! beautiful restaurant just a few steps from the sea. well prepared staff, friendly and funny.

When they are looking for good food, good service and a more beautiful, they see the fancier restaurant, as the average, this is the place since the beginning of the evening the staff was very warm and super friendly. the fish on the grill was wonderful, fresh and very well cooked. the cheese was very well selected in the ensemble and they have a concise and good choice of weep. obviously, expect to pay more than the average. an excellent experience.
