Bidrage med feedbackGreat place, nice remodel work done. This place is a regular for us. It's cheaper than Subway or McDonalds and you get actual food and great service. Today had the fish tacos, probably the best Mexican food I've ever had. Located near the ferry so you have time to eat between boats.
Stopped in here to get take out food while waiting to ferry. It has all i would expect, a (well decorated) hole in a fall, staff who are not native speakers (but really nice), and tasty food. The place was empty and the service was as quick. I had 3 carne asada tacos, sans cilantro, and a liter of coca cola. Gringo restaurants call these street tacos, but they are just tacos here.
We came here on a Monday looking for some takeout. Every other place on the block was closed (Subway, Pizza Factory, etc. so we decided to stop in here while waiting for the ferry. We mentioned to them we were catching the ferry and they had amazing service! Everyone working there was extremely helpful and kind. The food was hot and yummy and left us satisfied!!
This was a miserable dining experience and it had lasting effects on my friend. We stopped in for dinner (during COVID times so we had to sit in the back of the restaurant, which would have been fine if they had heaters for us, but they didn't. They had the windows all open, in February, and we were cold even with down jackets on). We placed our order at the front and then sat down. Our server brought us our drinks (mine was made wrong but they never came back so I just drank it). They never refilled salsa and chips and we didnt see them for another 20 minutes when they dropped our food off. I had the tortilla soup which was the most bland, boring, and tasteless soup I have tasted in a long time. Campbells soup was better than this. My friend had a burritio which was covered in a sauce. They liked it for the first few bites and then said it was overpowered with lime in the sauce. I took a bite and that was literally all I could taste. Fast forward to a few hours later and they became sick and continued to feel like **** all night. I don't know if it was just so acidic that it tore their stomach up or if it was a light case of food poisoning, either way, it was not good. All told we paid 63 for two drinks and two dinners which were not good and terrible service in a freezing restaurant. Skip this place. There are much better places to eat in town.
My fish tacos were made with escolar. How do I know? Google the name of that fish and you'll learn about the explosive oily orange diarrhea that I had for three days afterwards.
