Bidrage med feedbackI researched before I arrived in Victoria to find a really good Fish restaurant. Rubiras came up as the best. Now that I have enjoyed my first visit I want to visit them again. It was packed yesterday (Wednesday) when I visited. Excellent service every step of the way. Barramundi perfect. Then a very generous serve of King George Whiting, expertly cooked in panko . Crisp chips served separately. Lovely salad accompanied it. Appreciated that feta for the salad was served separately so I could control how much feta to use. The lady who served me was very professional and considerate and provided excellent advice re my queries. Serves are generous. Prices very reasonable. Great atmosphere. Definitely would like to visit again. Best book in advance as clearly this restaurant (with a long history) is very popular. Due to good service, good products and perfect cooking of the seafood. And nice atmosphere.
Cosy place with energetic noise levels but most importantly great food! The seafood menu is extensive and both entree and mains were fabulous. The Moreton Bay Bug Tails in a crispy beer batter, topped with honey sesame seeds were a highlight for my husband but my main (Orange Roughy) done in breadcrumbs was perfect as well as being a generous serve. Parking can be a challenge but worth the effort for a beautiful meal. Will be back.
This dinner was worth the 45 minute drive to get here. It's definitely a very casual dinner, but the food is really good, the service on point and there's a big selection of fish. For starters, I had the snapper and salmon croquettes which were really good and I had a gorgeous coral trout that they kindly battered for me, which was so delicious, for main. And because I sometimes like to indulge, I had the chocolate tart for dessert which was nice, but not spectacular. Overall, if you're looking for a slightly upscaled casual fish restaurant, then this is the place to come to. It's great for a good catch up with family/friends and reasonably priced and there's plenty of parking and mainly there's really good food. I highly recommend it here.
Thought the food very good but not value for money. As far as service, if the waiting staff smiled their faces would have cracked. Far from impressed!
I can’t really fault this place at all. It is a bit older in devour but it works. The bar is right there but it works. It’s always busy and that’s a testament to the brilliant staff and the excellent cooking of the variety of seafood on the menu. <br/ <br/ It’s pricey, this isn’t your local fish and chip shop, this is serious seafood with some sides. Don’t expect much more on your plate that the perfectly cooked fish you requested. <br/ <br/ They understand gluten free and can modify most dishes.
