Keke’s Chicken And Soul Food

This was bout the best dam food I had since tity milk. Man the cornbread was soft but not too soft, it was that perfect cornbread consistency, aint had that in a while. The red beans was saucy and beamy and had the right amount of sausage. The Koop aid reminded me of when I was a lil boy running back and forth in and out my grandma house and had to stay in. ****…dont even get me started on that oxtail. Tasted like non Marley and Garnett silk was finna walk thru the door. The rice under it was sauced up from the oxtails, man i dam near ate the bone. Had to force myself to not tear through the plate when I was eatin the yams. Bring ya mama, bring ya daddy if you know him, bring ya sister, brother, he’ll bring ya gerbil mane ts GUD

I was visiting a friend in the Port Arthur area about 2 weeks. I was about to head back home. I was hungry, so I googled restaurants near me. This place popped up in the search. I looked at it. I was like ok food looking pretty good. I kept looking at other places, and nothing was holding my attention. I kept going back to KeKes. I was like, let me go check it out. Well, I get there it's located in like a lil strip center with a couple of other businesses. I didn't see the sign, so I asked the gentleman sitting outside on the bench. He showed me to the door. I walked in and was taken aback by what I saw. It's NOT a dine in restaurant. I was like, it's a hole in the wall with food pictures on the wall this place has got to be lit. I placed my order for that days special (Oxtails) with 2 sides and a drink. Boy, was I right that food was delicious. I sat in the parking lot and ate it. The flavor was on point. The oxtails were tender in that 40 weight gravy over rice mercy on my soul. I couldn't stop eating. The sweet potatoes were like mashed up and not overly sweet. The Cabbage was so good spicy but not over bareing to take away the flavor. Again, mercy on my soul. The strawberry lemonade was good, too. KEKE I WILL BE BACK TO TRY SOMETHING ELSE. The service was good and quick. I waited about 15 mins because I didn't order ahead. It's a BOB. So if you're in the area and want some soul food this ya place.

Ordered a trill n fries today. Food was fantastic. Fries were nice n hot. Burger was great. Lettuce crisp. Tomatoes fresh. Seasoned just right. Price was very reasonable for the amount of food. We will be back. Gotta try the etouffe n fried fish next time.
