We were headed to the Italian restaurant of Michael's over the street, but found them closed at 9. On a whim we decided to try Michael's and we were sooo satisfied! The service was some of the most gracious we had experienced in some time; not fawning, but very gracious, knowledgeable and friendly, even if we arrived quite late. All our selections were delicious and the prices were very reasonable. We will be back as often as possible. Very, very satisfied.
The food is wonderful. We had the salmon and it was cooked to order and prepared with fresh local vegetables. The cheese cake is also delicious. This atmosphere is wonderful, intimate and yet friendly and welcoming. This could simply be your favorite place to enjoy a quiet and delicious meal.
Travelers, don't miss this place. This is the only place I found in Port Angeles that is really worth a 5-star rating. Absolutely delicious. It's a food restaurant. Also the best place in PA for craft cocktails. People will suggest the next door gastropub, but most of their drinks are usually juice, and I would put money on the fact that the only bitters they wear is Angostura if that. However, Michael's has not only one of the largest selection of digestive agents, Apertifs, Amaros and other herbal tinctures in the area, they have a huge selection of phenomenal house cocktails and homemade and aged spirits. They have a Manhattan that they themselves have cash, a great drink called Rock Rum, which was made with rum that they have taken, and perfectly cooked food for boating! Come here for a happy hour and get the pig bell. It comes on a bed of tasty, creamy potatoes and is dipped with homemade Worcestershire sauce. The gnocchi is also delicious. The staff is lovely, and there are records in sleeves that dress the walls over and behind the bar. That was a nice note when I'm a huge kistegräber. If you're in town, go here. If you have a sweet tooth, order the Brie appetizer. I don't want to spoil anything, but it floats in her homemade bourbon caramel sauce.
Beautiful atmosphere on the ground floor. I had the Heilbutt special with lemon pesto, which was delicious. The Seafood Stew was super fresh. The bread pudding for dessert can be the best I had. A great place!
Very nice food. I had the marbled salmon with steamed vegetables and it was very tasty. I also tried their 3 cider sampler. It was a bit pricey, like $150 for the three of is, but it is upscale and nice.
