La Fromagerie Boivin

Visited on a cruise ship excursion. Welcomed and given a short video on cheese production. Very nice mild and mature cheddar. Has a small shop to buy produce.

On our excursion we stopped at this delightful cheese factory and were glad that there factory still is in business today after a fire years ago that destroyed the facility years ago and then they rebuilt. We were given information about the factory in a...very nice presentation including samples of their cheeses. Absolutely worth a visit when you are in their area.

My oldest daughter, son-in-law, my wife and myself revisited this fromagerie as my wife and I were last here years ago and remembered the fresh cheese curds that they made. Much has changed from the little shop when only cheese was available to a...small restaurant where soups and fresh sandwiches can be prepared......but the cheese curds are as good as they were years ago! This fromagerie has been in existence for many generations of the Boivin family. It brought back many memories and would recommend this to all who come to visit this beautiful area.

We were amazed by this place and the number of people visiting on a Sunday afternoon. It was a warming dry day, but we were assured that it is always that busy as the products sold are of high quality and enjoyed by all. The...lactose free cheese was a welcome surprise for me.

The poutine had been recommended to us by a friend and it did not disappoint...the gravy was not too salty, the fries were good and the curds were big. Very yummy
