Port Dock Brewery Hotel - PORT ADELAIDE

The new owners are certainly opening up in a hard time of the year and economy. They deserve all the support the community can give them as the Port needs good places like this!!! <br/ I never went in its hay day, but I can say my fussy mum even enjoyed her meal from the beginning to the end! It's not the cheap pub meal slop I've experienced in the surrounding pubs! Instead we all enjoyed fresh and full flavored meals with perfectly cooked fresh vegetables that was a perfect compliment and to further impress the child's meal was exceptional for my fussy eater. <br/ <br/ Compliments to the chief.. <br/ <br/ The only thing I can add is that it would be great if it had one of those new fireplaces as the place was a little cold and it would really add to the atmosphere of it had some type of fireplace. <br/ The council needs to brighten up the street line of the whole area to attract more people to the eating area! I'm working on that! <br/ <br/ Must try

Returned. This hotel seems to have had a revamp and new chef. Last visit 2-3 years ago the food was very average. Last night I had perfectly cooked salmon with vegs. My guests tried the Ribs. All the meals were delicious and a good serving size. Chips and roast potato to die for!!!!! The waitress (young) was friendly and smiling a nice change. wine prices are reasonable also.<br/ <br/ So if you haven't been back for awhile because the food wasn't that good ......go again it has changed for the better. I think they have a band on Saturday nights also but we left before that.

Extremely Good!. My Mum and I had lunch there today and we were both impressed with the friendly service and quality meals. We used a 'Scoopon ' and certainly didn 't notice anything that was substandard because of the voucher use.<br/ <br/ We shared a Dip Platter (4 dips with toasted pita bread) for an entrée, which was quite tasty and we both decided on the Garlic Cream Prawns with Rice, for our main Served promptly, piping hot and ultra delicious!<br/ <br/ I call it an 'Old Fashioned ' style pub not trendy, yuppyish or over the top.<br/ They don 't have bands or loud music. They just have good food, with good service, that doesn 't cost the earth.<br/ <br/ Highly recommend 8.5/10.

Good honest pub food. We had lunch here today thoroughly enjoyed it. Friendly service and great food. The pie floater was delicious tender beef in a rich gravy served on mash tasty pea puree. The pork belly was impressive crispy skin juicy meat, not too fatty. We overheard the table behind us raving about their burgers, so will have to return to give them a go. We also had a beer paddle a taster of 5 of the beers brewed on site. The dark ale the ginger beer were the stand outs. Great value meal, even better with the entertainment card voucher. We'll be back.

The fish was moist and lovely with crispy light batter and the chips were not too greasy.
