Bidrage med feedbackOur first impressions about the Fortuna Buffett, was its impeccable service, its variety of cuisine and affordability. The Atlantic salman on its dinner menu is an absolute must, combined with prawns, octopus and mussels. Succulent carvery,Asian dishes, soup and dessert
My partner and I went here before we planned on going to the Casino and we're glad we came. There is a large variety of meals to suit all tastes, including Singapore noodles, pork belly, braised beef, salt and pepper squid, curry, roast vegatables, pastas, chicken wings, numerous salads and an extensive range of seafood. You also get bottomless soft drinks and tea and coffee. My favourite part, however, was the dessert bar. Being a sweet tooth, dessert is my favourite part of any meal and Fortuna Buffet did not disappoint. When we were there, they had an array of choice including bread and butter pudding, apple crumble, custard, strawberry mousse, choc cherry mousse, strawberry cheesecake, lemon meringue, jelly cups and peanut butter brownies (I can't recommend the choc cherry mousse high enough). Finally, I have to commend the staff on their willingness to help. We expressed to the staff that my partner has specific dietary allergies and the head chef personally came out to explain which dishes contained the allergens and which did not. We were very impressed.
Okay so the prawns are small but very tasty. Bear in mind that the crowd has just left as the Crows are playing the Saints right next door at Adelaide oval (we have a view of the oval and festival centre from our window seat) . All is good . I have a great Annie's Lane Reisling happening. For the cost the buffet is excellent value. BUT .... I am at THE Adelaide casino and I am totally dismayed to see a certain New Zealand wine not only on the wine list but set up in a cute little display on a wine barrel ( presumably Aussie) in the restaurant! Not happy Jan ! Let's ensure our visitors sample our sensational wines please !!!!
Visited with friends over a Sunday lunch. Great buffet selection of food (including fresh seafood) covering most cuisine. Tasty food, clean, no crowds; bit of a hidden value eatery top floor of the Casino building (follow the signs).
Sunday lunch buffet. I had not booked ahead and was not a member so had to wait. Fortunately the policy of making customers pay exttra for oysters took effect and the queue shortened and those who had arrived to gorge on oysters alone turned around and left. I was then admitted and enjoyed a good spread in a more civilised atmosphere. Hooray for the new policy.
