Gennarino A Mare - PONZA

Fish was frozen when we were told it was of the day. Prawns were not cleaned and the price was to expensive for the quality. Definitely not recommended.

Visited with my family for a much looked forward to meal . Friendly Waiter spoke good English by comparison to our sparse Italian. We selected pasta courses followed by mains . The pasta courses were very pleasant but again somewhat overpriced . For our main courses we chose Ponza Prawns grilled and grilled fish . We were advised that the Ponza Prawns €30 were delicious but we found them to be somewhat under grilled and served with a tiny lettuce and tomato side salad . No dip garlic butter . Very disappointed. At this point we decided against an over priced desert and walked 100 metres to a local gelateria and chose a very tasty gelato there instead . In general Gennarino a Mare is a pretty location with a pleasant ambience but needs to put in more effort with its food to merit paying the prices it charges .

I don’t know is only for the location or for the much quite compared with the others “downtown “ restaurant but every time I’m here in Ponza I spend o e time here On the water like a water bungalow (but is a small building) with professional waitress and kindness I suggest the pezzogna (local fish) on the grill and salmoriglio sauce even if they try to discourage ... The owner and manager should be more welcoming even when you leave... The check is always high

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Santa Domitilla (which was also amazing) and was recommended to dine here. the restaurant is ideally placed to take in the view of the bay and main township its fairy tale stuff truly spectacular! the food was amazing and the service seamless. Highly recommend this lovely dining experience.

Well well well! terrace on the sea in the beautiful ponza. excellent lunch the choice of wines, the wine cellar is well supplied and the quality proposed is very well assorted, varies from north to south without compromises. Good. the kitchen offers fish dishes with a certain variety of choices. The chef tries to have a good hand. but some dishes are of excellent invoice while others see the risotto of the fish there is still to work and study to propose a kitchen and/or an execution at the height of the structure and other dishes perfectly executed. the service is accurate and level. waiting times are correct. spectacular view. to go, eat and look! we will see again with great pleasure very soon for the 5 stars.
