Bidrage med feedbackWe were so excited when L’Academie first opened in the Champlain Mail at Imax Complex in Brossard. The food was excellent, and the service was top-notch. L’Académie Restaurant, Point Claire, Qc, however, is a completely different story. At my first visit, I was full of anticipation. However, my expectations were rushed. We were there three times and hoped it was better. But it doesn't, and I'm not back. The Aubergine Parmigiana consists of large pieces of boiled eggplant, which were lubricated in acid and watery tomato sauce. The Bruschetta was cold, soggy and tasted vinegar. The vegetables were boiled, dyed and dead. The pasta was overcrowded and slender. And the salmon was overboiled and dry. It is obvious that food is either frozen, packed or made from a tin, the only passable product being bread with butter. All cakes and cakes offered for dessert smells old and tasted like sandpaper. I think the BYOB factor brings people to this food factory. I don't see any other reason. Prices in L'Académie are not low, with a single salmon derée cost $42. In combination with soup or salad, coffee and dessert, dinner can cost an exorbitant $75. In view of the under-average quality of food, this is an inappropriate amount to be paid. The service was also dissatisfied. Our hosts had to look for the waitress several times. While the service standards at the age of the pandemic have unfortunately fallen, this does not excuse the high prices of the restaurant, the unexisting quantity and the total effort.
Bravo great service excellent food everyone had a great time martin the owner was exceptionally really enjoyed the experience from beginning to end, keeping the good work and I highly recommend L’academie restaurants
We did not know that this is a BYOB restaurant and there are no alcohols of any kind, unless you have your bottle. That wasn't a deal breaker for us, but it's just a warning when you go there. We had a pea soup, that was fine. I enjoyed my steak poutins. My sister enjoyed their monster size ribs. The desserts look impressive, but are food store quality. What was excellent was the service. Our waitress was excellent. It was a while since I congratulated someone for a wonderful service and she showed that she was only on the job for 3 weeks! She smiled all the time, had the most pleasant voice, checked the food all the time, apologised when she had forgotten something and brought it immediately, and cleaned the table again and again new cutlery. Many families celebrated Thanksgiving when we went, so there is definitely a family vibe where a 5 years old to a 95 years old could have a good time. Overall, it is a place to get a decent meal at a reasonable price and serving size. Our service was excellent and when I get service from this place, I go back.
First they brought the wrong food to two of our party. Then they didn’t have the chicken parmigiana that one of us ordered. Then they served inedible tuna (dry and badly cut) dish without the promised ginger mayonaise but some olive oil instead. The first...three screw ups were fixable but we ended up sending back the tuna mess without replacing it. I had to order a double serving of moule to feed those who were either deprived of their meal or had to wait for their orders to be squared away. The mussels were pretty badly shrivelled but edible. The waitress treated us to a single dessert to make up for the ruined evening. I didn’t blame the server who seemed to be overburdened with too many tables and an inept kitchen. Last time for us. Good luck to those who wish to dine there.
I was craving mussels so we went on a Monday for the all you can eat $28 mussels. I had a few different sauces, dijonnaise, madagascar, mariniere matrichiana. I enjoyed them all ! We also had the fehttuchini alfredo the penne romanoff, both...were perfectly cooked, creamy generous portion, oh ya also on promo $18 each ! we were so full no room for dessert. They have a nice assortment dessert tray to choose from. However I noticed on the way out that oysters were $1 Thursday Friday. So we returned to take advantage of this promo also...wow they were great, I had a dozen. We also tried the pizza di manza $24 which had sausage, pepperoni panchetta, it was tasty with a nice crust, we also had a fehttuchini bolognese $20. Both meals I ran into Maxi to pickup some wine cause it is a BYOB. Both servers we had Kyana Ashlee were very cordial attentive ! I defiantly got me selfish craving satisfied that week !
