Bidrage med feedbackHaven't been here in a few years after I had a very nasty waitress. Decided to come on my own to get their country fried steak. Turns out they stopped serving it. So I changed to eggs Benedict. Waited a while...waitress said they were busy in the kitchen When it came out, it was served over Raw, untoasted English muffins! One muffin wasn't even cut in half...a whole untoasted, gummy muffin! And the poached eggs were basically hard boiled...solid yolks! Will never come back.
Disgusted by the OB Diner's Unprofessional and Abusive Behavior My girlfriend recently experienced a traumatizing incident at the OB Diner that compelled me to share our dreadful experience. I must warn potential customers about the deplorable behavior of the owners, who not only screamed at her when she resigned but also hurled demeaning and hurtful insults. This incident was just one of many instances of verbal abuse she endured during her time there. It is disheartening to recount how the owners of the OB Diner treated my girlfriend when she made the difficult decision to quit. Instead of handling the situation professionally, they unleashed a torrent of verbal attacks, belittling her and undermining her self-worth. Their hurtful words included deeming her worthless and insinuating that she would never find employment elsewhere. This level of cruelty and disregard for an employee's wellbeing is completely inexcusable. What's even more distressing is that this incident was not isolated. Throughout her tenure at the OB Diner, my girlfriend faced an environment tainted by verbal abuse and harassment. It is utterly disconcerting that the owners perpetuated a culture where their employees were subjected to such mistreatment, causing immense emotional distress. No one should be made to feel inadequate or worthless in their workplace, especially by those in positions of authority. The owners' abhorrent behavior demonstrates a blatant lack of professionalism and a failure to uphold basic human decency. It raises serious concerns about their ability to manage and foster a safe and respectful work environment. Such toxic leadership poisons the atmosphere for both employees and customers alike, leaving an indelible stain on the OB Diner's reputation. I implore anyone considering dining at the OB Diner to think twice before supporting an establishment that tolerates and perpetuates this type of abuse. No one should be subjected to such emotional torment, especially while carrying out their professional responsibilities. It is vital for consumers to take a stand against businesses that disregard the well-being of their employees. In summary, my girlfriend's experience at the OB Diner was nothing short of traumatic. The owners' relentless verbal abuse, including their recent outburst when she quit, left her in tears and deeply shaken. I strongly advise potential customers to steer clear of this establishment until the owners address the abhorrent behavior and take tangible steps to create a safe and respectful workplace environment for their employees. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS PLACE TO EAT AGAIN
Food was terrible. Burnt, dried out bacon like dust on your plate and the eggs were so stale you could taste it. Cook and waiter show zero regard for specific request ie: bacon soft, light toast etc... horrible experience.
My first time trying OB Diner, I ordered a Reuben and it was great. Unfortunately, my husband's roast beef sandwich was dry and practically inedible. Our server was busy chit chatting with other staff (a manager had to break up their conversation to get other tables seated) so we didn't bother trying to get it fixed. We aren't often in the area so I doubt we'll try it again.
The OB is a Point landmark. It's been around in one form or another since before I was born. Been going here since I was a kid. I remember when it burned to the ground for the second time back in the 80s. Good food in good portions. The prices are reasonable and you get what you pay for. Expect about $15-25 per person for a meal. Fairly big menu to choose from, everything from breakfast to dinner. Excellent for when you're hungry, want to go out, and have no idea what you want. Also a really good place to stop for a meal after hitting the boardwalk or if you're getting in to town late and need a meal that won't destroy your wallet, but don't want fast food. Their breakfasts are excellent, and I also recommend trying the disco fries or the peppercorn burger. Expect them to be a little busier on Sundays after the local churches get out, as well as during the summer months. That applies for the whole town though. Generally though, I don't think I've ever had to wait to be seated. The current owners are super friendly, always chatting with folks that come in.
