Wokfusion - Plymouth

Came here a month or so ago and found that 5he business had been completely changed and revamped. It’s now called Asian Box and we think is a sister business to a takeaway of the same name in Market Road Plympton Plymouth. Our meals here were OK/middling on any scale. They deliver.

I had a great experience with this takeaway restaurant for over a year, but yesterday I ordered some burnt pork ribs and when I complained, things escalated quickly. The customer service was poor, and now I am concerned about the security of my bank details with Food Hubb. I would recommend staying away from this restaurant.

I ordered what was supposed to be a Malaysian Thai Red Curry, but what I received was a generic chicken curry similar to those found in Chinese takeout restaurants. I called the restaurant to express my disappointment, and the person I spoke with was polite and explained that there had been changes in ownership and recipes. I insisted that the dish I received was not a Thai Red Curry, and they promised to speak with their manager and call me back. Shortly after, I received a call apologizing for the mistake and explaining that they no longer offered Malaysian Thai Red Curry but now served a different type of Thai curry. They offered me a discount, which I accepted, but unfortunately, the food was not only incorrect but also of poor quality. It's disappointing to see one of the previously top-rated Thai restaurants/takeaways in the area decline in this way. Despite the efforts of the staff, who are likely dealing with numerous complaints, it's unacceptable to advertise a dish on the menu, sell it to customers, and then claim it has changed without warning. I am concerned about the potential risks for customers with allergies if they were given an unexpected substitute dish.

I ordered a takeout meal of egg fried rice, Thai green curry, satay chicken skewers, and pancake rolls. I have frequented this restaurant many times before and it used to be my favorite when I lived in Plymouth. However, it appears that there are new owners as the Thai green curry was extremely unpleasant, tasting like a salty soup. The chicken skewers were dry and tough. I called to complain and requested a refund for the Thai green curry, but was only offered a 20% discount on my next order. Additionally, the Thai green curry ruined the taste of my egg fried rice, and because I had mixed the two together, they refused to refund me for the rice. I will not be ordering from this restaurant again and I recommend they improve their customer service or they will lose all their customers.

This place must of changed hands.. sorry to say but we’ve just experienced probably the worst take away food ever! Dry (emphasis on the dry) Pad thai noodles which tasted absolutely nothing like the traditional dish, this was more a sweet chilli base which was really spicy, so the kids went hungry! The Thai green curry resembled a watery soup! Pancake rolls which were soggy! Shame because we’ve had lovely meals here before, but certainly won’t return and would not recommend! A lot of money wasted..
