Bidrage med feedbackHidden gem! this place is local, authentic and offers a lot of food. Overall I felt that playa only “ok” offered food. we tried to read reviews on google and travel advisors on our trip, but felt that many of the reviews were inaccurate....It was either overpriced or just ok. we decided to go around and try something where we see many locals. so we landed on this place. the guacamole was great, better than el fogón. we had eating the day the first time that a suppe, a drink and the main dish for 65 pesos included. then we returned later in the night for tacos. I can't say enough how much we loved this place, eating was great and at a reasonable price. Go to this place and support them the true local Mexican food!
It is a very authentic Mexican place. we went there for the daily meal and it was so good that we went to dinner. the guacamole was the best we ever had in play del carmen. the tacos and alambre were delicious! it was a plentiful surprise, very cheap and very tasty eating. if they try, they will come back! it is really worth it.
They serve a home cooked meal between 1 and 4pm that includes soup, rice, beans, a meat dish and a drink. As of December 2014, the cost was of only 45 pesos per person. We had a lentil soup, pork in green salsa and pineapple...juice that were fantastic. We also stopped by for dinner and everything we tried was delicious. Highly recommended!
I always love to try out places known to the locals. I asked my taxi driver what his favourite place to eat and he recommended this place. it was also near our hotel! this was a place to go...for the best authentic tacos, etc. we have ordered everything here and it was so amazing. even the horchata was perfect. the carne asada tacos are the best! I was here in December 2017. I just wanted to write a review because I recommended this place to a friend of mine who goes tomorrow.
Friends had recommended we try this off the beaten path place (on Constituyentes, west of 30th avenue, on the left). We were not dissapointed. The quesidillas, the tacos, the beer, the wine, the margarita were all great. The service was excellent. The gentleman who served...us went out of is way to make our 'simple ' experience a good one. Don 't expect glitter. It is a very simple, clean place. Our friends wanted to try the pork to find out if this is what they wanted and they were more than happy to bring them heaping samples (free of charge) to try. My husband wanted a margarita. When the waiter found out he was out of Tequila, he sent one of his helpers to buy a bottle to make them. That was cool. Figure this, there were 6 of us. We ate, had 5 beers, a bottle of red wine and one tequila and the bill was less than $700 pesos. Can 't beat it.
