Bidrage med feedbackMy wife and I visited this restaurant during a last trip to playa del carmen. we found this restaurant to be charming and funny. it is an excellent environment. also the service was excellent. but we were disappointed by our meal times. my wife and. I ordered both pastas and were both underwhelmed with the sauces (my wife had a cherry tomato sauce and I had a garlic, red pepper and olive oil-based sauce). In addition, we both added a lobster tail to our pasta and unfortunately they were overcooked and a bit tough. we wanted to be so impressed by this place as it is a rustic and comfortable hotel near the fifth avenue. Unfortunately, eating did not live entirely our expectations.
Thin crust pizza with many interesting topping combinations! a good service, a great preserve music and a colorful lighting/decoration in the atmosphere in the free make it a lively place to hang out for the evening. we had the oreo cheesecake. maybe they try something else or spend the calorie. on another drink!
Came here for wood fired pizza and was not disappointed at all!!! I love pizza and this was right up at the top for me. Ingredients were fresh and the pizza was hot. I ordered a salad and the portion size was great and it...was fresh and cold. Definitely coming back while on our trip. Nice job Piola!!!!!!
After being the first costumer ever in this place and the first one trying the famous “Basil Martini” cocktail here, and being a costumer for over 10 years, last night I had the worse experience. Haven’t been there for a few months and last night...I wanted to impress, my friend just arrived from France. To start, we’ve order a round of no alcohol basil martinis. With the idea of order another round with alcohol and maybe dinner. As you can see in the image I’m sharing, the expectation vs the reality is way different. The answer of the waiter when I asked about what he brought was: “Sorry is what I’ve got from the bar and they always serve it like this. Few minutes later the captain or manager (not sure) came to our table to explain the reason of the presentation was, because they were short of martini glasses (the place was not even 50% busy). And about the “watery, not frozen” presentation, was because always is like that when is alcohol free. First time in over 10 years I hear this. Of course we asked for the check and went somewhere else for dinner and cocktails. It’s a shame they lost the quality and presentation of the “insignia” cocktail and sad they cannot afford for enough glasses for they clients even if the place is not full. If this is for a drink, I don’t want to know how is the rest of the food. I will never comeback or recommend it.
We didn’t eat here but stopped for cocktails. There were great. Strong recommendation for Mezcaltini. Also the service we great too. Nice little nook of the 5th street. We’ll be back!
