Bidrage med feedbackDespite bad reviews, this place was really good. They offered many original roles I had not seen so far, many of them had several fish variations in one role. Example is: They could have a role that contains eel, salmon and crab. The interior is very modern and clean. LED lights, granite bar tops and stone walls. Food and service also provided. Take a look at this place. Was a bit on the expensive side.
I wanted to like this place so badly. It is very cute and stylish with modern decor and upbeat music, but unfortunately this is about the only positive. It was recently opened, and based on the previously stellar reviews we had very high hopes! My friend and I went on a Thursday night at 6:00 just in time for Happy Hour, this is 3 7PM. Every time we go to Sushi, we always start with veggie tempura, and I must say from all the veggie tempura dishes I have consumed from countless places over the years, I was never more disappointed... My first bite was a big piece of sweet potato. It was cut very thick and thus it was cooked, hard and raw. My next bite was zucchini, which was also cut thick, but had the opposite effect, and can best be described as mushy. The broccoli was the only veggie that was boiled properly, but something went wrong with the dough... it was lifeless without crumbling, just so tender. To supplement injuries, the immersing sauce that came with it was completely tasteless. No saltiness or taste... basically brown water. Next we ordered a California Roll and a Philly Roll. The California Roll was just fine. It's hard to fool me, but I definitely had better. But the Philly was terrible, which I think is a pretty basic role. The salmon had a rough color on it and was hard to chew. It had a gummy consistency and did not taste fresh at all. After my first bite, I pulled a fish scale out of my mouth. I had lost my appetite pretty much, but I left anyway because I didn't want to waste food. We basically had to separate each piece and select the bits of bad-looking salmon. In the role there were also visible blue pieces of avocado. The service was good, but not the most attentive. I never got a refill on my water, the dishes were not deleted until after our departure, and the waiter didn't care how the food was. It also took 10 minutes to get the bill with our credit card. This was after I had stacked the dishes for them and had moved them to the edge of the table to make it obvious that we were ready to go. Overall no good experience. We had also planned to order a special role, but after we were disappointed in two basic roles, it was not important to take the risk.
Service was attentive and the restaurant was clean and designed well enough. The apps and sushi came out and were delicious. Overall a pretty standard sushi joint but the service was more than I was expecting. Worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for some creative sushi rolls.
I ordered to go but remained hot and a Kirin. It only in time for happy hour (20% off alcohol). Total for the fancy role (with sashimi above), miso soup, 5oz Sake and a Kirin, change $25. It seems a little expensive for me because I used to be cheaper places, but with cheaper quality. But I can say that the quality of this role was great and my stomach is satisfied instead of hungry.
Food, service, prices and atmosphere here are great. I'm here twice now and I'll be back. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice, cozy place to eat something very good food at a very good price. Very nice, friendly people who care about you.
