Bidrage med feedbackAfter reading the online reviews, I really didn't want to try this place, but my husband had put his heart on trial. So I tried to approach it with open mind and give the place a chance. I'm so glad I made it! The bacon wrapped shrimp was amazing, my husband's steak was gigantic and perfectly cooked, and my fish sandwich was also very good. The service was prompt, the food came fast and we did not experience any of the problems that others seemed to have. It is not chic, but it was quality food at decent prices. We'll be back.
Last night was my first time I tried Jim Dandys. I went in and celebrated my birthday. Very DELICIOUS food! I was so excited for the 2lb Tomahawk Steak, lobster tails and two additional pages especially! PERFECT portion sizes so you get what you pay! The staff was amazing and friendly! I will definitely come back and I recommend all my friends!
What a pleasant surprise, that was our first visit to this beautiful Southside bar and restaurant. Delicious food and great price and a great quiet place to find it on the beautiful book called Bacon Gone Bad, by Brigette DuVal-Begos, you can find it on Amazon, thebookpatch.com and eBay. Until the next trip...
It is a shame that I can only give Jim Dandys a five-star rating because both service and food earn separate five-star ratings. The owner, Charlie, went out of his way to reach me personally to solve a problem that occurred before my first attempt to eat Jim Dandy's. When I finally had dinner there, he stopped several times to make sure everything went well and thanked me for coming back. This shows that he really cares for his customers and wants the best culinary experience for them. Every entrepreneur, not only restaurant owners, should try to emulate Charlie in this respect. As far as food is concerned, I have the Tomahawk steak and crab legs specifically with potatoes and Mac and cheese for the sides. When I asked if I wanted soup or salad, I chose the soup that was beef and cabbage. I asked for my steak medium to be cooked, and in my opinion it was an absolutely perfect medium. There was only enough season on the steak to complicate the taste instead of masking it and the butter upstairs was a nice touch. The crab legs were excellent. I had never smoked crab legs before and honestly it will be hard to bring non-smoking crab legs forward. Very unique and I am glad that I am not for the shrimp or lobster as the seafood option in this special (although I am sure that both would have been great). All sides were very good. The beef and cabbage soup is definitely something I had not before and was interested in trying. The conjured beef was plentiful, and the buds of potato and carrot were a pleasant surprise, as I assumed that it would usually be only cabbage as a filler compared to the convicted beef. I have already begun to spread the word, and my employees seem to be interested in going with me the next time. Yes, next time I'll visit Jim Dandys.
The food was really good I live in Milwaukee and me and my parents drove all the way out of Milwaukee to eat here
