Sawpit Mercantile - Placerville

I guess when you order a 1/2 rack of ribs to go and the guy asks if you want them frozen or microwaved you really should know that this is not a BBQ place. But I went ahead and got them,microwaved. And as expected, very disappointed. It may be Colorados best BBQ, but they couldn't stay open in Texas. Lesson learned.

We have eaten BBQ from Georgia to California. We like all kinds like St.Louis style and tangy Georgia ribs. This BBQ was the worst. Partner had a pulled pork sandwich and said it was blah. His Mac and cheese was great with bits of jalapeños. His banana pudding was too sweet. I had ribs, they were tough and the silver skin had not been removed. There was NO smoke flavor on either meats. The sauce tasted like ketchup with Worcestershire sauce. My potato salad was good. It was made with mayo and dill. It needed salt and pepper. Drive on to Telluride or Ridgway for a better meal.

Food and team were exceptional; would recommend Sawpit to anyone having an event big or small. Thank you for everything!

We had pulled pork sandwiches and potato salad. it was delicious. the staff was friendly and helpful. we sat on one of four tables. there is a deck with tables for use if the weather allowed. the load-sold homeware and a series of own products. beautiful place.

If you go in here not hungry the smell will talk you into eating its smells so good
