Soul Sea - Pittsburgh

Stopped by for the first time today and loved it! The fired chicken was perfect, and the sides were incredible. Highly recommend and will be stopping by again!

So the porkchop was very tender but really didn't have much flavor or seasoning to it. The yams were undercooked and were not very sweet nor did they have much flavor.The cheesecake was okay. Was sweet but the yellow cake section of it took away from the cheesecake. The food didn't treat bad just sadly pretty bland. Everything was tender.The Mac and cheese was the best part of the order. That had good flavor to it.

Ehh . SO so.. I ordered 4 sides Mac and cheese (never received they replaced it with greens I didn't ask for) Yams (ehh so so) greens (taste like meat) green beans. (Taste like pork) I wish it tasted more like the vegetables than meat. They don't specify there's pork I the greens and everything lacked flavor anyways. ~update I threw that s away

Bad food and bad service. I was recommended this place from a coworker and was glad they paid because I’d be more upset if I spent my own money…First service:Says they open at noon and no one answered the phone until closer to 12:30. When they finally answered, the person couldn’t hear a word I was saying (found out when I got there they couldn’t hear any phone order because the music was waaay too loud) and had to repeat my name and order a half a dozen times.Now the food:Thought I’d be safe ordering the wing dinner, i mean how can you go wrong with fried chicken, mac and fries? The Mac cheese was watery, bland and flavorless. The fries were as limp as a wet noodle, soggy and tasted of week old burnt grease. At least the chicken was edible (as in it was the only thing I barely finished). It also smelled of old grease and literally only 1 of the 6 were actually seasoned! ??‍Conclusion:With the good reviews and my coworkers recommendation, I had high hopes. If I wasn’t on my lunch break, I would’ve immediately brought the food back. For the $13 spent on this meal plus the gas, I could’ve went to kfc and spent less money with better results. I would have understood if maybe they were busy or it was the end of the night but, when I came I was the first order and the only person there ?.
