Bidrage med feedbackWe decided to try this restaurant as it was conveniently located within walking distance of an occult store we were visiting. It was not very crowded, possibly due to a sports game happening nearby. Regardless, our experience was excellent. The coffee was excellent, the food was delicious, and the prices were fair. We were pleasantly surprised when the bill came out to only $56 for two entrees, two coffee drinks, and a side. The service was great and the food was delicious. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Starting with the aesthetics, this restaurant is truly beautiful and the service is exceptional. The overall vibe immerses you in a different time period with a speak-easy feel. While the food was good, it leans towards being fancy for the sake of being fancy rather than focusing on taste. Some food combinations felt confusing and not particularly complimentary, despite sounding gourmet. For example, the duck fat french fries had a very fatty taste due to the thick cut fries and the use of duck fat. While I enjoyed some dishes like the bread pudding and salad, there were a few issues with the pairings that didn't quite hit the mark for me.
This restaurant has the most amazing whiskey collection I've ever seen! They offer rare bottles at reasonable prices, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I absolutely loved it!
Honestly, I'm so bummed. I had been wanting to try this place for a LONG time. Finally got around to going. We had a reservation for 630pm, they took us right away. Wasn't very busy at all when we got there (although it did fill up towards the end of themeal). I started with a beer off the tap, it was delicious and they did have a decent beer selection. We started with the cheeseplate appetizer. Out of the 4 or 5 cheeses maybe 1 (cheddar) was really good, the rest were just ok, as one person said beforethe bread etc that accompanied the cheese was scarce...but again, appetizer. For dinner we both ordered the lobster shrimpbutter risotto. The risotto was mush and the lobster seemed like it was cooked twice over. Small lobster to begin withespecially for almost 40 dollars. The flavor was decent of the risotto but it was OVERPOWERED with fennel. So much so that mywife had to stop eating it halfway through because all she could taste was the licorice. We ordered the peach bread pudding fordessert. Ice cream was good, the bread pudding was too bread like, not enough milk or moisture. Seemed more pound cakey thanbread pudding. And there wasn't a peach or peach flavor to be found. The bill came and it was pricey! We don't normally look atthe cost of things...if we're going out, we're going out...but this was enough to jump off the page for what we ate. I wanted tocome have a pour of bourbon, but to be honest I was so taken back by the pure disappointment dish after dish, that I wouldn'thave enjoyed it so I just said nvm. We won't be back and I'm deeply disappointed by that.
We couldn?t have had a better experience, or picked a better place to dine. My partner and I had our first date night in over a year and a half. Our server, Tabitha I believe, was absolutely PHENOMENAL. She is very friendly and I would have given her 100%tip if I could have. The cocktails were amazing, I had the Lovely Lady first which consisted of Strawberry Vodka, fresh soursand lemon peel. I secondly had the Strawberry Jalapeño Margarita, which is a house made infusion, and it was stunning. If youlike a little heat, it?s definitely a must have. My partner had the Whiskey Sour, which was frankly the best he?s ever had, hesaid. Outstanding flavor. We had the Brussel sprout small plate, which had goat cheese and bacon, and a super yummy thyme maltvinegar additive as well. For an entree, we shared the Butter Poached Lobster Shrimp which was paired with a Chardonnayrisotto, with asparagus and fennel. The flavors were just?. CHEFS KISS. We finished the night with an espresso martini and thericotta cheesecake. Which were obviously also amazing. This place is a gem!
