Mastro Bistecca - PISA

Having had many a meal at airport restaurants I can understand the wide range of comments from good to bad. However, my recent experience was very good food, service and price were well above the standard for an airport. It was relatively late in the day so not many customers: even so I would always advise to give yourself plenty of time. I would be happy to go there again.

No staff present when we arrived, and we found a free table out of about 20 and were ignored for 30 minutes. When we eventually snagged a waitress, we placed our order and had to ask for what drinks were available. We ordered a bottle of white wine which was the highlight of this visit although it was deposited when waitress was passing. The service was atrocious, the food disgusting, the meat ragu with spaghetti was cheap and greasy and my wife's ravioli was no better. We had to ask for wine glasses and they were dirty, so ended up using the water glasses for drinking. One pack of cutlery had 2 knives and no fork. We were offered no bread and I think this is an excuse for a Tuscany restaurant.

Waited 30 min before the waiter noticed that we exist. The waiter noticed that only after I went to the bar and asked whether it is self service or not. The table was cleaned after the third time we explicitly requested this exclusive service. The waiter was extremely rude and arrogant during the whole time. The plates were ridiculously small. The funniest part was that after this comedy ended we had to pay a service fee. : If you are not starving, please do yourself a favour and never ever go there.

Qualche sera fa accompagniamo cari amici all'aeroporto e per caso visto l'ora ci fermiamo in questo posto per mangiare la bistecca devo dire che siamo rimasti colpiti perché davvero grande tutto molto buono anche i contorni miei amici e sono stato molto soddisfatto torneremo sicuramente in qualche altra occasione comunque lo consigliamo

We had a couple of spare hours and stumbled up the escalator to this restaurant. A welcome escape from the noise and the crowds. Being vegetarian there was not much on the menu for us but they offered to make us a special dish which was yummy simple pasta and fresh tomatoes with chilli. We also had the pecorino cheese platter and chocolate tart. All very yummy. All the food is fresh and the two ladies serving were lovely. So glad that we avoided the eateries around the leaning tower and ate here!
