Bidrage med feedbackWe booked this online via OpenTable, and received an email the day prior to our booking confirming it. On arrival the restaurant was closed, and on checking, had been so for at least a month. Open Table really need to keep their details up to date. We were lucky enough to find another local restaurant, but they should stop taking bookings for a restaurant which has closed down. Please note, you are also still able to access the reservation system via this website Trip Advisor, you need to change this.
From start to finish it was perfect! It was mums 80th birthday so wanted to make it special which friends certainly did from decorating the room, friendly service and yummy food! We all loved the food, highly recommend.
Mediocre at best. Website advises that the restaurant is open till 5:30. We got a call at 11:30 to ask if we wanted to bring our lunch forward as they had no later bookings. I advised that our friend meeting us was doing charity work until late so could not meet us earlier. Advised this was fine. Confirmed that we would not be rushed but regrettably we were very rushed. We were asked to order immediately on arrival and then asked about desert while we were still eating the main course, which we declined for obvious reasons. It then transpired that we were being rushed as there was a pub night for the staff at the pub next door. They left with us and entered the pub as we were walking past. So essentially not open till the time they said. We were rushed and it was not worth it as you go to Friends for the experience and the food. Will definitely not be going back given that this is second mediocre experience in a row.
Perfectly decent food, not as good as it used to be could be covid recovery issues and they may get the standard back up fingers crossed. Service was friendly but a bit chaotic we were initially overcharged by £100, but they fixed it immediately when we pointed it out. Food is good, very well presented, a small menu (which I prefer). Nothing wrong with the place, but the dishes used to be really inventive, and it's just a bit more pedestrian now.
Visited with a client in early April 22. The place has certainly been through a refurb since I was last here. I like the quaint little cottage vibe. We went for the tasting menu. -Stand out dishes were the scallops, quail and pulled beef. The trio of deserts is insanely cool. -Next time I will prepare/fast before indulging in a meal of delightful deserts. The chocolate desert being the best. They have a selection of reasonably priced wines. Staff are friendly and service is relaxed. -One of the nicest neighbourhood restaurants I have ever been to.
