Bidrage med feedbackReally nice place clean and absolutely managed by exquisite people also is in the center of the city near everything you can look for and there is a roof terrace that is really breathtaking I gladly return to one of my favorite cities and I will definitely come back here
We were great, delicious food and beautiful atmosphere. absolutely to return. typical dishes and some peculiarities
The restaurant is located in a charming little piazza in the beautiful village pienza, right next to the very popular sette di vino, which was unfortunately completely booked when we arrived, therefore why we ended in il rossellino the owner has not checked on our green pass and he also wo no mask; the waitress was, though, and she offered a professional and polite service. eating is a tasty small selection of Tuscan traditional means of life, slightly reinterpreted in a more contemporary way: its aim is to have a more hostile experience instead of a typical Tuscan osteria with very small portions, which fill more the eye than the mag. the prices are high 100€ for two for small appetizers, two netzen and a glass wein, although the entire val d’orcia is expensive. overall no bad experience, just a bit pretentious. for an authentic Tuscan osteria it is probably best to try the next door (for another time.)
Il Rossellino is one of the best and most authentic wining and dining experiences you can have in Val d’Orcia. And: a favourite of the locals! Cristoforo, the owner, is a fantastic host and a natural in hospitality. All the other staff members, waiters and chefs, are incredibly skilled and kind people. The menu changes seasonally, while keeping some of their signature dishes all year around. We have come back to this little gem many times and have been able to try every dish of the menu everything is absolutely delicious. Both, the outside tables on the piazza (a bit more lively) and the inside seating (very intimate and cozy), are lovely!
Such a warm welcome from the small team here the other night, following a long day's frustrating travel. I was kindly squeezed in (as they were booked out all evening) for a delicious supper of herby pappardelle alla salsiccia, beautifully judged and fragrant with rosemary. My gorgeous glass of Rosso di Montepulciano and a taste of the new season's olive oil were matched by the humour of my hosts who made me feel special as a solo diner. Highly recommended and, in warmer months, I should love to return and soak up life at one of the tables in the square outside.
