Verweilzeit - Pichl-Preunegg

We have eaten here many times during our vacation here in Ramsau. Large selection of soups, cakes, drinks. Super for vegetarian/vegans. In summer they also make beautiful ice creams. Beautiful modern feeling.

Open on Sundays. Central Ramsau village. Can sit outside in the summer. Shop attached selling jams, wines, biscuits and a few non food products. A very pleasant, light and airy cafe/restaurant. Quick and friendly service. Superb home made cakes and good quality coffee. Mixed seating arrangements of...dining chairs and sofas. Dogs were allowed inside. Fantastic selection of vegetarian dishes a refreshing change from heavy Styrian food. (I make a mental note to come back again). There are meat dishes too. It's great that the cafe is open on Sundays it sells good ice cream in the summer too. We ate Mohntopfenstrudel(a kind of poppy seed cheescake) and Streuselkuchen. Toilets were clean and fresh. Location across the road from the bus stop. A couple of parking spaces outside. The cafe was full with a mix of age groups, families, walkers. Big picture windows give views towards the Dachstein. Can thoroughly recommend. Two large cappuccinos and two cakes about €17.

We stopped off for a great Austrian Kaffee und Kuchen session on the way home, after a day of skiing in Schladming. (Not many places of this type in Schladming). Yummy cakes Torten, high standard coffee, very friendly service, great shop delicatessen for...fancy gifts Mitbringsel. (Try the nearby Spar for the more basic supplies). Place feels much more cosy than website photos suggest. (You won't feel awkward wearing skiing gear). Nice long opening times. Makes you want to come back for next year's winter holiday!!
