Mamma Toledo’s The Pie Hole - Phoenix

I have gotten 5 pies here in the last 9 months for different occasions and all have been outstanding. The price may seem high but quality ingredients and they are large. Definitely better than some store bought generic pie. Banana cream is my favorite!

We must have gone on an off day, judging by other reviews. I looked at menu online and saw several breakfast items that sounded good, so we went at 8:15. First, we were surprised there wasn 't any seating (just an uncomfortable couple of stools at a counter), and no coffee, etc. As we waited, I noticed the front area was not clean...debris on floor and a stack of very dusty trays, etc. We ordered one each of the quiches and took home, nearby. Hugely disappointing... dry and tasteless, and too much crust for a quiche. The dessert pies sound good, but this is not a place for a breakfast!P. S. in response to Mamma: you were not there. We were NOT offered fresh quiche as an option. We assumed we were getting fresh quiche.

So we got 3 pies mixed berry, key lime, PB chocolate. Overall, the best was the key lime. I am a chocolate PB girl, and unfortunately, I didn't finish the pie and prob had 10% of it and threw the rest out I have a sweet tooth!!! . PB flavor was meh, and no chocolate flavor at all. I tried just the chocolate part, and it was flavorless. All 3 of us tried it no one wanted to finish it... The crust on all of them was a bit dry. Maybe they were a bit old, who knows. My hubby loves key lime ate it all, and it did have good flavor I don'tlike key lime personally, but tried it . My niece had the mixed berry, and that was ok. I tried it, and it's not overly sweet and was better than the PB chocolate. Would we go back? Honestly, I don't think so. I'd probably drive the 45 minutes to rock springs pies but this place is not horrible, so try it for yourself. Overall, it's just OK.Also, the girl who checked us out was not friendly at all. No, hi or how are you, nothing! And a guy came in a few mins behind us with 2 dogs!?! In a bakery, gross!!!! And she didn't ask him to leave them outside. If I hadn't paid, I honestly would've left. I know it's not the owners fault, and they have a sign up, but come on! I have dogs/cats but would NEVER bring them anywhere, especially a restaurant/bakery! Who wants dog hair in their pies unless it's my own animals, lol . Restaurants/bakeries should never allow this, especially with people who could have allergies or just the simple chance of animal hair in your food. Everyone who has animals know they shed the minute after you roomba or clean, so animals in a bakery is just gross!

My husband is a stickler with his lemon meringue pie. He is only a fan of his moms lemon meringue pie recipe so when I went to mama Toledo and saw all the great reviews I knew it would be great! I got a few of the mini pies to include the lemon meringue pie and my husband said it was amazing and tasted exactly like his mom made! Thank you for making his Father’s Day one to remember! We will definitely be back!

I walked in as a first time customer and explained that to them. They asked a few questions and then made a recommendation on a pie they thought I would like. I tried the raspberry cream pie. Oh my goodness it was so delicious. I can not wait to go back and try more flavors.
