The service is not fast so if you are going pre-show or Theater you need to allow ample time. I highly recommend.
Very charming restaurant with authentic French cuisine.
The restaurant has a very European vibe with a cozy atmosphere where you can easily hear your dining companion. The octopus is said to be the best in the city, and the service was outstanding. The desserts are also top-notch. This restaurant has definitely earned a spot on our list of favorites.
7:30 reservation. Loved the intimate setting. Waiter provided excellent service. We ordered three specials of the day. Mushroom soup delicious. Scallop special (ran out of scallops for the evening so was replaced with salmon) could have been tasty if it had been drizzled with truffle oil, not drenched. Vegetarian meal included delicious mushrooms and asparagus, as well fresh pasta, but the overly thick cream sauce made it way too rich to enjoy.
I don’t know. I want to like this place, but a lot of things were disappointing. It started by having for wait for good 3-4 minutes for someone to greet us and take us to our table. Our waitress was busy with other patrons but there were two other employees who easily could have helped out. Instead they just stood in the back of the restaurant and just looked at us. Our first course was good, but very heavy and too much food. I had mushrooms with puff pastry. My wife ordered the mushroom soup, which was delicious. Our second course was disappointing. I ordered the steak, which was smothered in sauce so you couldn’t even see what you cutting. The cut of mostly cartilage, which was just terrible. I left more than half on the plate. My wife had duck, which was dry, so the plethora of sauce helped in this case. We asked for the check before deserts. Next time, we will go to Bistro La Minette.
