Green Eggs Cafe - Philadelphia

Omelet was over the top. Service great. Omelet fed 2 of us and we were full with a side of fruit which was an upgrade for only $1.50 and enough for 2 people. Would definitely go back. Cash only.

This is my second time going here and when I say they don’t miss, they don’t miss ?‍?. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a brunch spot in Philly.

Just delightful from beginning to end. I came because we found this cafe on Google maps as a short walk from our hotel, and I'm a sucker for sweet things. Cookie dough stuffed French toast was enough to get me to commit to coming while we were in Philly.The food and coffee did not disappoint! Cookie dough stuffed French toast is every bit as good as it sounds. I was eating with my infant child, and every consideration was taken by the staff to accommodate us. Particularly Tyler who helped us I to the restaurant and Ox ? From receipt) who took my order. I also had a salted caramel mocha and ordered one to take to my spouse at the last minute. I didn't have to wait long for anything. My order was taken within a few minutes of sitting down, the coffee came out first a few minutes after ordering and the French toast just a few minutes after that. The presentation of the food was also like what you'd expect many restaurants to use as their marketing shot but it was just how mine was plated and the coffee, a mountain of whipped cream and a fancy pattern of mixed drizzle). We really enjoyed our time in the cafe, which was clean and busy but also had a relaxed feel to it. I'll hopefully get to make it out again while I'm here.Kid-friendliness: I came with my infant child.Tyler, who greeted us at the door, held it open to help me get the stroller through. We chatted about how he noticed my child was observant and he let me know he was a photographer and suggested I cultivate their artistic eye. He also offered a high chair even though I had a stroller and hadn't thought to ask for one and he asked about whether I wanted a kids menu, but was aware that at my child's age we might not be feeding him food from restaurants yet. We were given a table with lots of space around it and easy passage to the exit.Other members of the staff were also very friendly with them, the atmosphere wasn't too noisy so they were quite comfortable.Wheelchair accessibility: If you are looking at the entrance head on it looks like there is only a staircase, but as the cafe is part of a plaza, of you are facing the entrance and look left you will see a wheelchair ramp on the other side of the building and if you take that the walkway connects too green egg at the top.

I’ve been to the Green Eggs Cafe twice and, while I did not enjoy my first trip, I would recommend it overall.Trip 1:During my first trip, I ordered the Cinnamon Bun French Toast and a standard **** Mary. The french toast was a spectacle: a tall tower of cinnamon icing with a mint sprig as a colorful garnish. It smelled great, looked great and the portions were plentiful.That said, when I cut into it, I was shocked to find the center hollowed out to make room for more of the cinnamon brown sugar sauce.It was entirely too sweet and the lack of actual toast made the entire dish feel like goop in my mouth. Even if it wasn’t a truly American sized dish, I wouldn’t have finished it. It was not a pleasant eating experience.The **** Mary lacked any distinguishable taste or flavor and I barely felt a buzz.Trip 2: After my first visit, I was not keen to return, but my partner had a great experience the first time around, so I chalked it up to me choosing poorly during our first time out. The second trip went much better than the first. I avoided the mistakes I made last time and ordered The Kitchen Sink (a skillet with eggs, potatoes, sausage, and a biscuit covered in gravy) and The Klause (a mix of Prosecco, Elderflower syrup, mint, and lime).Much like the Cinnamon Bun French Toast, The Kitchen Sink is a spectacle. Served in a cast iron skillet, this monster of a meal was massive and intimidating, like it was challenging me to finish the whole thing in one sitting. I knew as soon as it was placed in front of me that this meal was destined for a take-away box, but that didn’t stop me from eating too much at the table. It might not photograph well, but holy wow did it smell and taste delicious. It was savory, flavorful, and obviously very filling. It was a little heavy on the potatoes and the biscuit was a bit too dry for my liking, but the dish as a whole was incredibly enjoyable and it keeps well enough in the fridge so leftovers provide something to look forward to.The Klause had me impressed after the first sip. While the mint sprig and lime wedge were less than fresh, the garnish was really the only downside to the drink. It was refreshing, flavorful and strong enough to get a bit of a buzz going. I would return to Green Eggs Cafe JUST to get another one.Some things consistent with both trips:-Excellent Service. Staff was personable and quick. There was never a moment when we felt like we were waiting too long.-Fun, current popular music. While the atmosphere itself is kind of non-existent, I found myself singing along to most of songs played and, while that’s not “the point” of a restaurant, it nails the fun brunch vibe.-Cash Only, Cost Effective: Green Eggs Cafe is cash only, but they have an ATM at the front of the restaurant. The menu itself is extremely cost effective. I don’t want to say “cheap” because that gives off a negative connotation, but yeah this is easily the cheapest brunch I’ve had in Center City and that alone makes it worthy of your attention.TLDR: I would recommend Green Eggs Cafe, just don’t get the Cinnamon Bun French toast if you’re over the age of 8.

One of the best brunch spots in Center City! The variety of breakfast/brunch food options are great. My friend made a distinctive comment on how she enjoyed the variety of French toast options. Also the portion sizes are not to shabby, I definitely had leftovers to bring home.Also, it’s a cash only restaurant. They have an ATM inside if you forget to bring cash.
