Bidrage med feedbackTuesday, 11 June, 1845 hours. A good quiet, atmosphere, and a good club sandwich. The fripps: very deliciously deep fried, unsalted, home-made potato chips that were a rare treat, and will be one of my main reasons for going back to this eatery at a later time. You could probably get a styrofoam box of them to go, without having the health department stop you from the experience of foodie adulthood, since selling these treats in bags would make the owners millionaires in a year... The crowd was mostly a crew of after-work joggers and runners, who gather at a large community table to have refreshments and chatter about news, and locals who want to be able to carry on a first date conversation, sans electronic irritations. The TV sets were on the usual news shows, game shows and girl 's pro softball, with the sound turned off, making this a huge slice above a typical bar. This place is 'an old school joint ', one step above a hot-dog selling pool hall, where the main draw is the Cool, Calm and Collected Atmosphere of Let It Go until the Morning now that the work-day is over. People who expect a lot of waitstaff attention should go to a Restaurant with low-lighting, black aprons, and Sinatra crooning over the satellite tracks, not a Deli. The waitress was taking care of twenty or so customers, and somehow doing a good job of keeping them all visited and happy. She probably has a back-up or two on the weekend nights. And one of the sweet-touch benefits of all the sidewalk window frontage is that you can probably see your parked vehicle as you eat.
Discovered this restaurant walking around old town Petersburg VA. Ordered the crabstick sandwich, an adult beverage. The d sandwich was good and we will be coming back again to try their other options. The beverage was cold and crisp. The atmosphere is open and inviting with friendly staff. Worth the stop of you happen to be passing through Petersburg!
I had the Cuban sandwich and waffle fries. Both were outstanding.
I enjoyed my dine-in experience at Longstreet Deli. I made it my business to stop by after seeing so many people every time I would pull up to the traffic light beside the deli. I was a little uncomfortable at first because the race ratio but the warm service and nice, kind workers made me feel right at home. I will definitely return soon.
The food was ok ....the service was ok and the atmosphere was ok....Nice little place to go for something different...didnt like the potato salad ...waffle fries were good...just sandwiches pretty much with a bar
