The Shuckery - Petaluma

I took my Mom here for the first time last night we enjoyed a fantastic meal. We had oysters (raw baked), we shared the whole rock cod paid a few dollars extra to have the famed Caesar salad instead of the seasonal salad. The sides were a very tasty black rice pilaf the best creamed spinach I've ever had! The fish was wonderful, drenched in a mouthwatering caper lemon butter sauce. I took apart the fish like a wild animal left only a small pile of bones. The server told us how to filet it it all worked out wonderfully. We shared the Creme brûlée for dessert. It was lighter than what I have had before (almost like a flan) with a few berries scattered on top. Next time I will try the panna-cotta. The service was friendly we felt at ease through our entire meal. My mom really enjoyed herself we will be back soon.

The ambiance is a bit eclectic, spread-out throughout the Hotel, with a lobby bar. Fun! $2 oysters where delicious Service friendly, prompt The clam chowder excellent Make sure to have the cauliflower Buffalo wings (haha) The NA they serve is local, best ever

My family was technically camping in Petaluma, but we decided we needed more than hot dogs and stale chips to keep us from skewering each other. so we made our way to the Shuckery, which was everything we needed and more. Elegant yet welcoming location, incredibly flavorful food, and accommodating staff who forgave us campers for showing up without a reservation. The Shuckery is truly a gem.
