Bidrage med feedbackTucked down a back street and nothing special to look at DON 'T just walk by. This place is fantastic. The owner is so enthusiastic about his selection of organically sourced food and wines. The menu provided a broad selection of cheese, fish, meat, pasta, vegetarian options. He was very helpful in explaining each dish and there was no pressure to order anything other than the amount of food and drink you wanted. The quality of the food was top class and to be honest a real surprise from a restruant with such a humble appearance. We sat outside on little table with life just going on around. A live jazz group were playing, for restruant in the street, people playing chess on steps opposite, people drinking and listening to jazz group. A really interesting and entertaining evening. BUT the food and wine were excellent. We would definitely highly recommend you search this one out. The owner is so passionate and fun his energy and belief in his product gives the whole place that extra factor.
Another gem in Perugia. Whenever possible I stop by. There is always something interesting on the menu and here you'll find those natural wines you hardly encounter. Giuseppe is very enthusiastic about food and wines and has a huge knowledge especially of the food of Campania. Fish is great here but costly. Reason is its gets brought by a small reseller which brings the best and fresher. All fish is wild, not farmed. Service can be a bit chaotic and slow sometimes but the atmosphere is great and makes up for all. In the summer they have a few tables outside, very romantic.
The charming small restaurant offers a specialized fish menu with a creative mix of tastes. You can choose à la carte or from the daily offer. Regardless of the name, when eating at la fame, you shouldn't immediately go for quantity but rather for quality. Both the food as well as the wine were delicious. As antipasta we had a piece of slightly fried fish, similar to tuna, accompanied by a puree of celeriac followed by delicious cannelloni filled with a mixture of nuts, cheese and herbs. As main dish we chose the catch of the day; a mediterranean fish (orate) with a tomato, oil and caper sauce served with mashed potatoes, superb! Buon appetito...
A tiny restaurant that spills out into the trendy Via della Viola, with a vibe that feels like it belongs in a neighborhood in Paris and a quality of food that belongs in a restaurant with a Michelin star. Pricier than most places in Perugia and with smaller portions (at least for the tasting menu), but every single mouthful is absolutely perfect. Go here if you want to impress a date.
The vegan options were not that flavourful, although the non-vegan options looked amazing! Thus, this review is slightly skewed because of the vegan fare. Great atmosphere with wonderful music and overall ambiance.
