Bidrage med feedbackOff th o watch the Eagles beat Carlton on Saturday and we decided to have lunch at the Globe hotel before the game. My son and I had the fish and chips and they were so tasty. The batter was crisp and the snapper thick and very moist. Chips were freshly cooked and the coleslaw excellent. Dipping sauce a bit bitter but over all an excellent lunch. My husband and daughter had the chicken burger and this too was well presented. It must have been to their liking because not a crumb was left. The kitchen is open to the public's view and was very clean. Wait staff were friendly and cleared the tables promptly. Seating was very comfortable and prices very good.
Started the day here before heading out to the footy at subi oval. Place had a great atmosphere and lunch specials. We opted for the steak and chips for under $20 bucks. The steak was cooked well and the service was quick.
The Globe is in the heart of Perth's CBD fronting onto Wellington Street opposite Perth Station and backing onto Railway Lane with easy access to Perth Underground Station and therefore to all of Perth's metropolitan railway network. The recent closure of a number of pubs and restaurants in adjacent Murray Street for redevelopment has meant that this popular venue has seen a corresponding increase in trade. The Globe carries a good selection of wines, spirits and beers, with a good selection 'on tap', all at a reasonable price. There is also a reasonably comprehensive, if typical, food menu, also reasonably priced. Music can be a little loud if you land directly under one of the speakers, but this is a lively, vibrant venue, with a good atmosphere with a generous amount of indoor and outdoor seating which, in the summer, affords plenty of opportunity to sit and people watch as you enjoy your favourite beverage.
Lovely pub, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, great beer and selection of wines, however, the food! Disappointing. A tasteless burger meal, wish I'd gone for something more adventurous, the chips tasted as though the fat fryer hadn't been cleaned out, my hubby had the fish and chips which he enjoyed but it looked basic. Nothing special at all, but every thing else was awesome
We went here on a cold wet Sunday night when most restaurants and pubs were closed in the city. We had the steak and beer special, $20 for a steak and beer or wine. It was as good as any pub steak I've had. The staff were attentive and friendly.
