Sichuan Palace - Penn Hills

My partner and I decided to celebrate our anniversary at this restaurant and ended up spending more than $60. Unfortunately, the chicken dinners we ordered were of poor quality - the meat was tough and seemed old. It was a terrible experience overall. The service was not great either. This was a takeout meal for dinner, costing between $20-30 per person. We rated the food a 1, service a 2, and atmosphere a 2. The only dish we would recommend is the wonton soup.

We placed an order for over $50 at this restaurant. The food was not up to par - the General Tso's Chicken tasted like Orange Chicken and was chewy, the spring rolls were overcooked and two were burnt with a filling of mostly cabbage and one shrimp. The Crab Rangoons were not crispy, the beef and broccoli was tough, and the fried rice lacked flavor. It seemed as though the food was cooked in old oil. We were disappointed and hungry. When I called to complain, the man offered $10 as compensation, which the woman kindly gave as a credit. However, the man seemed agitated by my dissatisfaction with the food. This negative experience, along with the subpar food quality, led me to write this review. The chicken fried rice was very dry and the chicken appeared to be a day old and not fresh - also too dry. However, the other dishes were great. The service was efficient with a rating of 5. The atmosphere was also rated a 5. Recommended dishes include the sesame chicken. There is plenty of parking available, including free parking in the lot. Meal type was dinner and the average price per person was $20-$30.

I have been going to this restaurant for years. Every time you order food is fantastic. I have pretty much tried lots of dishes on the menu and have never been disappointed with my choice. Service: Dine in Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
