Restaurante a Sardinha - Peniche

Avoid the “Tourist Menu” we had the tourist menu. They didn’t serve the bread, which was included. The fish soup didn’t include fish, only noodles. The Swordfish was a bit overdone, however the adjacent vegetables were nice. The desert was supposed to be chocolate ice...cream, but they just served a cup of ice from the cooler. like the ones you buy at the supermarket) At the end we had a espresso, which was good and strong. Price 12,5 Euro/ pers. including a glass of house wine. Last week when we were there we had a Fish Stew, which was nice. We had the wine of the month. Approximately price 22 Euro/ pers

We had the fish Cataplana, recommended to us by the waiter. It was very good and a complete dish, we were really satisfied. Also the wine, chosen by the waiter for us, was very good and had great quality price.

We came across Sardinha by chance as it is one block back from the front, where most of the restaurants are. On a Sunday lunch it was packed with a big queue so we returned and sat outside. Sardines for 3 of us to start...followed by mixed grilled fish; squid and seafood tagliatelle all great. Really attentive service with wine recommendations. Very strong on the Covid19 precautions. We reserved for 7.30 and by 8.30 there was a sizeable queue. Came back a couple of days later and the steak my son had was not so successful (stick to fish and Octopus (big portion could have been hotter. However, 5 stars because price/value, service, food all together across two nights were on balance better than everywhere else we went. Best reserve a table!

Decent service, decent prices, good location and decent food. Food could be a little more tasty, but overall it was pretty good....

We usually love this restaurant and have always received perfect service and eat! Unfortunately, the last night was under par, and the service was bad! Many workers stood around, didn't seem to help us! the young male waiters were great. but did the majority of the portion, while the young girls were not interested! we will do it again when we return to portugal in september and hope they can improve again!
