Bidrage med feedbackOur family loves The Grove and we have celebrated many milestone events there over the years, including our parents' birthdays and wedding anniversaries. Today was my mum's 95th birthday and a few of us gathered for lunch. We brought Jolly along, so we were seated in the dog-friendly area, which felt like our own private space since it was midweek. We started with some delicious pink bubbles before enjoying a fantastic spread for lunch. We were all very pleased with our starters and mains, including a variety of menu choices such as Kimchi and Duck wonton, Fishcake with cucumber pickles and garden herb mayo, and Bream with cucumber, watermelon, and chilli. For mains, we enjoyed dishes like Risotto with sweetcorn, Parmesan, and crispy onion, Pea and tofu burger with Asian slaw and Parmesan fries, and Saundersfoot sea bass with Grove vegetables and curry broth. The staff took great care of us, especially Jack who recently started working at The Grove. He was exceptionally polite, engaging, and attentive - a true asset to the team. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert as we had a fabulous birthday cake waiting for us at home. Thank you for making this another special day for us.
The starters were disappointing, with a thin and unappealing sauce. The burger was tasty, but was covered in a strong and unpleasant American mustard dressing. It was off-putting to have a smelly and yappy dog in the dining room while trying to enjoy a romantic dinner. The owners of the dog were not dressed appropriately and seemed more suited for the beach. This was not the experience we were expecting at such a nice restaurant. The manager apologized, but insisted that The Grove is dog-friendly. While I appreciate that, I do not want to dine with a dog. However, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and we were not charged for the inedible lamb burger.
A beautiful building , lovely grounds , perfect venue. We eat at the Artisan Rooms for the first time. The meal was very good. The fish cake was just right, The duck dish was exceptional I have only ever had a leg served like that in France. The sauce was perfect and such a nice antithesis to the cynical quarter of square cut breast served at most fine dine establishments. My husband had the steak pie which he said was unctious and delicious. The only disappointment was the dessert. I am a huge rhubarb fan but the frangipani had a poor consistency no almond taste and the rhubarb was inedible hard and unsweetened. I will try it again next time as it is a perfect sounding dessert and I think it was just a blip. I did mention it to the server not the person who looked after us during our meal but he simply shrugged and made no comment which given the rest of the service here was surprising. We will be back to try the main restaurant and rooms next time as all in all it is wonderful find a real Pembrokeshire gem.
The Grove is a delightful building in beautiful gardens. My husband and I, along with our dog, went for afternoon tea and enjoyed a lovely afternoon in one of the Artisan Rooms. Contrary to some of the previous reviews I read, we found the selection of savoury and sweet treats to be delicious. I agree there was not lots of food, but the quality was superb and we certainly had sufficient. Cakes taken home in boxes are never as good, so I prefer not to be over faced and to enjoy at the time. The service was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a special treat.
Excellent food ,and service ,ate at the restaurant two out of the three nights we stayed. Breakfast and dinner was unfaultable
