Bidrage med feedbackVisited the cellar bar this evening for drinks- wow!! We were served and looked after by Quinn, who was amazing. His knowledge of the cocktails (which were delicious) was superb, 10/10 charming, friendly service. He went above and beyond to make our evening very special. Beautiful cocktails and atmosphere, we enjoyed every second. Thank you Quinn, we will be back! From Jack, Ellie, Lucy and Mark
Invited to a wedding evening at this venue and was lovely. So steep stairs but a handrail is provided the beer is generally bottles but the atmosphere is excellent the food was super ! A really great evening
We began our evening with a delightful meal at the restaurant upstairs, which I will review separately. After dinner, we headed to the cellar bar, inspired by the photos on the website. We started our evening with drinks in the outdoor area, which was tranquil and perfect after a day at Newport Sands Beach. We later moved indoors and enjoyed a variety of cocktails mixed by the talented mixologist Liviu. My brother-in-law and I especially enjoyed the Negroni cocktails. Liviu was very skilled and made us feel welcome. Although our visit was short, we plan to return to Newport soon and the Cellar Bar will definitely be on our list of places to revisit.
Located within the hotel, the cellar bar is a restaurant we tried out for dinner. The food was exceptional, with a wide selection on the menu and attentive service. The prices are reflective of the high quality of the establishment, so they are on the higher end. However, if you are in search of a special dining experience or a top-tier restaurant in Pembrokeshire, Llys Meddyg is the place to visit. The fact that it is frequented by locals is a testament to its consistent excellence.
We visited over the bank holiday weekend, we expected it to be busy but when we called in for a drink we found there was only one table assigned for having drinks and that was taken. We asked where we could sit to have a drink as there were five of us and a number of empty large tables laid out ready for food for two people. We were told all the tables were reserved so we left thirsty and a bit miffed. The restaurant upstairs was quiet but the cellar bar which advertises itself as a place to go for a drink has all but one table reserved for food. I'm happy to see businesses doing well, but it seems the cellar bar isn't a bar, it is a more casual dining area than the restaurant upstairs. We called back a couple of days later and managed to get the one table designated for drinks (all other tables were booked again)and had a fantastic cocktail. My issue isn't that its busy, it's the fact the signs outside tempt you in to the cosy cellar bar for a drink, but the likelihood of being able to get one with a seat is slim, unless you book a table for food as well. I think it would be useful either to rename it as a restaurant or make more seats available for people who want to be able to call in for a drink. On the plus side it's a lovely venue with great cocktails.
