Bidrage med feedbackI discovered this small restaurant on Google Maps while searching for a place to have lunch, and it did not disappoint. Despite being in a remote location and midweek, the restaurant was quite busy, indicating its popularity among both locals and travelers. The menu offers a wide variety of options including snacks, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, and full meals, with many specials available. My companion had a toastie and I had a coronation chicken sandwich, both of which were generously sized and came with crisps and a side salad. We couldn't resist trying the delicious homemade cakes, particularly the coffee and walnut cake for dessert. The restaurant also has clean restrooms and a collectibles shop next door. While it may not be the cheapest option for lunch, the quality of the food and its value make it worth it. Keep in mind that they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Overall, a great dining experience.
Ended up visiting twice. First visit was at lunchtime. Sunny day so sat outside. Greeted by waiter and served quickly. Drinks arrived promptly quickly followed by food. I ordered jacket potato with beans and cheese and my husband had jacket potato with coronation chicken. Very generous portions and both really delicious. Had coffee but too full to sample the lovely looking cakes. We were so impressed that we decided to return the following morning for cooked breakfast. I had medium breakfast and asked for no hash brown and husband had large breakfast. I was offered extra bacon or sausage to replace hash brown which I accepted and had extra slice of bacon. We both had a nice pot of tea each and food arrived promptly again. Beautifully cooked, everything fresh and again very generous portions. Place was quite busy for a very wet Friday morning and by about 10.30, was full think they were a lot of local people. I can see why this place is so popular. We also bought two slices of cake to take out with us (lemon drizzle and coffee walnut) which we ate when we got home to Mid Wales later that day, Highly recommend and will definitely return.
We wanted to come back after our lunches las year which we really enjoyed I even managed to make the gentle on the till laugh about my strange order. So we went for lunch today my husband had the fish cakes chips and peas I just wanted a prawn sandwich which came with some crisps and salad all very nice and a really lovely Latte with milk not a machine one like you get in some places. We had seen the cakes before we sat down, the coffee and walnut was so fresh I was only going to eat half but is all gone an excuse to go again tomorrow my husband enjoyed his custard slice.
