Portfield Chinese Takaway

Worst crispy fried beef. Soggy tasteless and even the dog turned her noise up at it. Will never order from there again

After a filling B&B breakfast and snacks all day, we decided on Chinese food for a light evening meal. We ordered Sweet and Sour, Chow Mein, and Egg Fried Rice. We were very happy with the generous portions and delicious flavors. The Sweet and Sour sauce was particularly tasty and the rest of the dishes were equally delicious. We would definitely return to this restaurant without hesitation.

To begin with, this restaurant is not inexpensive. It cost nearly £30 for main dishes, rice, ribs, and chips. The satay was a pale, bland mixture of pork and vegetables with a basic soy-based sauce that lacked any peanut flavor. The few prawns in the curry were very small. The salt and pepper chips, priced at £3.20, were served in a small container with chili flakes, but became soggy on the journey home. The ribs were decent, but unfortunately served in a paper bag that seemed more fitting for the chips. Overall, the prices were high considering the low-quality ingredients. It is recommended to try a different restaurant.

My order took over two hours to be delivered, despite being told it would only take 45 minutes to an hour. I called twice to check on the status and was informed that it was ready for the driver to pick up. However, I waited another half an hour before finally receiving my very average meal. When I called again, I was told there was nothing they could do about the delay. The service was very poor and the food was just average. If you value good customer service, I would recommend looking elsewhere for takeout.

We are new to the area and so this was our first time ordering from the Portfield chinese. The lady on the telephone who took our order was really friendly, polite and thorough. We ordered a variety of dishes and side orders and our order was correct on delivery. Each and every item was delicious, tasted very fresh and was hot on arrival. I will most definitely be ordering from this Chinese again and based on my personal experience would also recommend the Portfield Chinese to others :
