Bidrage med feedbackWent for breakfast for Mother's Day (4 people) 1 hour 20 minutes wait after ordering...INSANE! I have never waited that long before for any meal at any restaurant. We should have walked out, and what makes it even worse.....food was NOT worth the wait. We will not return and will not recommend!
Fenwick is a very small rural village in the heart of the Niagara Peninsula. Anyone that finds it does so because they purposefully drove there to see someone they know or it was by accident. In my case, I knew the area and was planning to drive through as I usually do - the road is a convenient shortcut between two other municipalities...if you know where this road is! My cell phone rang and I pulled up in front of the Golden Grill to take an expected call. I learned that the meeting I was going to was delayed by more than an hour so now I had time for lunch before my appointment! There are other Golden Grills in Niagara. They are all greasy spoons that should be avoided like eBola, therefore, I was quite reluctant to go in. There was no other place to eat in town and it would have meant driving out of the way and possibly being late for my appointment so I took the risk.WOW! I was wrong about first appearances! What a delightful and unexpected find!*When I say "appearances", I'm talking about the "franchise name" and my previous underwhelming experiences at others. The outside of this business is quite pleasant and fits this small village very well! The dining room seats about 90 people and is really quite nice. I was told that two sisters took the place over and renovated about two years ago. There are very new stone floors, tables, beautiful wood bar and these partners have done a great job of the decor - obviously a woman's touch :-) Don't worry, guys, it's not laden with pink and frilly lace LOLThe food was really good! The menu is well planned with lots of choices, but it's not so big that it's hard to decide! The pricing is quite reasonable.I had a daily special - egg salad sandwich and home made soup. ($5.95) WOW! Just like my mom made! Seriously! The service was EXCELLENT! I am a stickler for service because I have been in the service industry for over 30 years and have been trained professionally to always over deliver on service. This place did not disappoint! My meal was cooked and delivered quickly and the server came by a couple of times. Mind you, the place was not that busy at noon (the Monday after Christmas) so I guess I might have to lower my expectations a little after February :-)The only two things missing that would have made it better: WiFi and payment with plastic. They only accept cash! They have their own ATM if you don't mind paying the service fee. (Hint: There is a Canadian chartered bank across the street!)Overall, a great find in this small town. I now have a good reason to use this shortcut between Fonthill and Wainfleet more often!
I had an incredible experience at this restaurant in Niagara Falls. The food was delicious and made authentically.
This restaurant is absolutely incredible! I cannot praise it enough.
Horribly long wait for breakfast ... very unorganized. Too many cooks in the kitchen, causing more chaos than anything.
