Bidrage med feedbackOn our way back to hotel after a long busy day in Firenze, we stopped w/ some friends II Grano E L’Uva b/c of prior trip advisor reviews ARE SO Glad we did! Francisco the owner) did his magic put together 5 wooden cutting boards with samples from his deli/ shop of ALL these different breads, pestos, olives, salami’s, stuffed tomatoes, olive oils, cheeses spreads! It was absolutely DELICIOUS ! We Highly recommend really enjoyed the local wine he recommended as well! Le Palaie: Gatta Ci Cova photo attached! We also enjoyed picking out some breakfast biscotti, apricot torte, al cioccolato, torta al limone all for tomorrow’s breakfast!
Francesco was knowledgeable and very generous with his time. He taught us about wine and a delishious pistachio pesto from his home in Sicily. Highly recommend!
Fantastic wine tasting. Staff w as very informative and pleasant. Highly recommend stopping while in the area.
Cozy backroom, surrounded by wine. Francesco was amazing. From Sicilia but spoke perfect English. We had a typical Tuscan meat and cheese platter to die for along with delicious spreads including funghi with truffles, Sicilian pistacchio pesto, etc. It's not a restaurant per se it is what we would call a deli in the US with a few tables in a secluded back of house for wine and Tuscan delicacies Well worth it and in a beautiful undiscovered walled city. Would come back in a heart beat.
We like to go to Il Grano E L’uva at about 7 pm for a Prosecco to get the taste buds warmed up for dinner. We really like the Prosecco they serve here in their small and quaint and west facing indoor seating area; and the Prosecco is always served with a few tasty nibbles. My wife and I savour the aperitivo, talk about ‘this that and and the other’ as the sun goes down, and start to relax into the evening. They sell really good quality produce and bread as well.
