Costambar Restaurant - Paterson

Love this place it's very authentic comida dominicana. They have the hot food buffet style by the lb or you can order certain dishes to order. Bacalao is on point. Batidos made w/ carnation milk, chibola name it and habichuel as como la que hacía mami! Como e Comelon!

This is definitely the place to enjoy authentic Dominican cuisine that tastes just like Grandma used to make. My wife ordered the Stewed Mashed Eggplant served with white rice and white beans (I guess she has a preference for all-white meals). I opted for the Oxtail with Pigeon Peas rice. Our salad included avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, beets, and cabbage. The food was absolutely delicious and very flavorful. The service was excellent; our server, Mary, handled our orders like a pro, and she was super friendly and helpful. Another staff member, Aridia, was also very nice and welcoming. For drinks, my wife had a Country Club Merengue (Cola Champagne) soda, while I enjoyed a thick and delicious Morir Soñando (a refreshing orange creamsicle drink). So far, Costambar is the best Dominican restaurant in Paterson. We loved our experience!

The atmosphere is fantastic and the place is spotless. The food is absolutely delicious. However, the woman who works in the morning seems to give me a dirty look all the time. I'm just trying to be friendly—after all, we’re here to support each other! Thanks again for everything the other day.

This place definitely knows how to treat its customers well. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive. The food is reasonably priced and always delicious and well-presented.
