Bidrage med feedbackMy ate and I dined here and we are their first customers. The staffs were very accomodating and the ambiace is cozy. But the best thing is their Gringo Southern Spice Chicken.. THE BOMB DOT COM!
Gringo is just located at a corner of Megamall Atrium. Even though it is inside a very busy mall, you can feel the homey ambiance once you enter the restaurant. We asked what their bestsellers are and the server suggested that we try their Southern Spice Chicken. So we ordered that with free 3 sides -- Marbled Potato Salad, Mexican Rice and Buttered Corn. For drinks, we ordered their Tropical Lemonade. Overall, the food was very tasty and delicious. The chicken was very soft and you can taste the flavor of the herbs and spices. However, we ordered an additional white rice because the Mexican rice is also flavorful and when combined with the chicken, the taste is a bit overpowering. So I think it's best if the chicken is combined with ordinary white rice. We also ordered their Nacho Grande for takeout. It's still crispy when we got home and it was also very delicious. Staff service is also commendable because they were very helpful and they entertained our questions and requests.
My 2 friends and I went to Gringo half past 1pm for a late lunch. We ordered the spicy chicken half sized with 3 sides (Mexican rice and garlic mushroom), and the cheese truffle quesadillas. We were excited given the good reviews from friends, but 50 minutes in and we still haven't had our ordered food. The waiter assigned to our table is apologized and said there was some problem in the kitchen. Wrong. The group of people who came in later than us behind our table was served before us. I had to call in the manager's attention to expedite our food. It was served except for the wrong side dishes. The food was great. It was savory and spicy. But the service was very poor. The waiter apologized but the manager did not even apologize to us. Disappointing first time. It may be an outlier because everyone except us was served on time, but if I were to crave Gringo's food I'll try the other branches instead and hope for better service.
Nachos is the best this restaurant can offer. The Southern Style chicken is overrated. Please don't make the same mistake by ordering crispy pork belly with mango salsa because they are not crispy at all. They are just over glazed fried pork. They were not vent fork tender to begin with. Aside from the nachos, I see no reason why I will return here. Better dine at Eduardo's instead. They are much more affordable and they taste a whole lot better. angtakawko.blogspot.com
