I discovered Mendez Restaurant by chance on Orange Grove Blvd, hidden away in a liquor store. Despite the small seating area, they offer a decent menu that includes barbacoa de borrego. I tried their tacos, which were good but lacked seasoning, earning them 3 stars. The torta barbacoa de borrego, on the other hand, was fantastic with a generous portion of lamb and fresh ingredients, earning it a solid 5 stars. Overall, Mendez Restaurant is a hidden gem worth trying.

The barbacoa tacos at this restaurant are truly delicious! The service was excellent and very hospitable, even bringing me some spicy chiles halfway through my meal when they heard I liked spicy food. The restaurant had a unique and charming decor. I will definitely be returning!

Wow, the lamb barbacoa at this restaurant is amazing! The location may be a bit sketchy, but it doesn't take away from the experience. This place is authentic and run by a family.
