Bidrage med feedbackWe had an excellent meal here in September, but a very different experience on this second visit. The enthusiastic, talented young chef here then seems to be gone. The restaurant is now not offering a la carte, but only a fixed seafood based menu, a...meat based menu (both at €59) billed as three courses, but with extra items included, and a chef 's menu at €79. The specific dishes are verbally given by the waitstaff, and difficult to follow. We did the seafood menu. Dishes were a bit fussy and bland, and really didn 't seem to capture the essence of the ingredients. Portions were very modest (three small scallops as the main course). When we finished the scallops, the waitress announced dessert. We fortunately could recall from the earlier verbal recitation of the menu that the kitchen had completely forgotten an oyster (one that is) in Asian broth course, and pointed that out to the waitress. Apologies offered, but it took about twenty minutes for said course to arrive. After the pre-desert and desert, we settled our bill and left disappointed and unsatisfied. We would not recommend or return. €216 for the two menus, two glasses of good champagne, and a very decent Montagny 1er Cru Burgundy.
I came here with very high expectation and I was kinda disappointed. I was searching for a good place near the louvre to go eat after visiting the museum, and after looking at a great number of places I chose this. The plates presentation seemed...pleasant, the chefs experienced, but: the service is fast, very fast. I booked ONE month in advance and I was put in the table next to the kitchen window. It was so noisy and all I heard was cluttery and plates. It was almost unbearable. The food is good, but nothing else. Nothing special that wows in all plates I tasted, they were all pretty anynomous actually. I really appreciated the dessert tough. Don't know if I would come back, probably not.
Nice discovery. original and tasteful cuisine. very good choice of wines
Firstly, the service was first class. 4 of us really liked it but 2 of us were not quite sure. It seemed to me that they were trying too hard to impress with master chef techniques. My fish was ok but my sons beef was really good. The Wine was exceptionally great. It was next door to our hotel Le clef so only a stroll away. It is really busy with the locals. I would try again but would order the meat above the fish. The staff were brilliant.
