Bidrage med feedbackAVOID! A part of the family fraudulent travel agency companies SOE tours avoid at all costs. Food and restaurant quality told by the stars and reviews. Restaurante es parte de una compañía de agencia estafadora, no consuma ni de pie a que lo estafen esta...familia ni SOE tours.
I feel even more scammed at this restaurant now that I’ve read these reviews. We were accosted by a man on a motorbike who gave us a spiel about coming to this restaurant. Foolishly, we thought he’d worked hard to get us in here so...we’d go. The food is VERY expensive, although it wasn’t that bad. He got us in there by saying you get a free Pisco. I don’t speak much Spanish but try hard to, and the staff in the restaurant didn’t speak English. When I ordered the “Pisco sour gratis” for the group, they came back with Pisco sours and what can only be described as a shot with it. When we came to pay, they charged us for the Pisco sours! Apparently the shot size drink was the free one, which wasn’t made clear. After much arguing and getting the man back who got us in there, they took the drinks off the bill but at least two other tables were complaining of the same thing. The food wasn’t awful but 50 sole for ceviche and 60 sole for “fish nuggets” isn’t worth supporting a restaurant that’s running such a scam on tourists.
We had booked a private tour from Ica to Paracas, Islas Ballestas, etc. Everything was fine except his recommendation to have lunch at this place. They offer two Pisco sour, and after twenty minutes and three reclamation’s we received two tiny plastic cups of lemonade...without any taste of Pisco. The ceviche was ok but overpriced. The worst thing was Arroz con marisco. For 48 S/ you get no marisco but hardly edible ingredients which the owner said were pulpo and lapa. Well, the driver was invited for lunch and that seems to be his motivation to take people to this specific restaurant. The only positive thing: The view is excellent. Don’t expect a toilet, they say it’s not allowed as they are in a national park. There is a public toilet that costs 2 S/. As I had no coins I asked for 2 soles which they bluntly refused. As a foreigner speaking Spanish I complained to the owner, she didn’t seem to care. At the end there is no bill but a figure that she scratched on a sheet of paper. I insisted on a factura and received a hardly readable boleta de venta. If I had been online, I could have recognized the multiple warnings by fellow travelers. If you are lucky to check before you visit, you are warned. Check any other place, it can only be better.
Terrible food. We thought about giving it two stars because of the view, but this place is so overpriced and the food is just too terrible to justify any rating at all. Dirty tables as well and no toilet. I really hope you read the...reviews beforehand!
My fiancé and I were greeted by an aggressive local half a mile away from where all the restaurants are here. We were exhausted from riding bikes for hours. He zoomed up on a moped, spilling out the specials. He then followed us in, attempting...to force us to his restaurant. We decided elsewhere because the pushiness was so uncomfortable. We watched these men BLOCK visitors that were getting out of vans from going anywhere but their restaurant. Here this warning and enjoy the more relaxed better service of other restaurants here.
