Bidrage med feedbackSatura Cakes has finally opened in Palo Alto! You also have a cafe in Los Altos, but it is more fun to eat cream puppets or something for this matter on the eclectic street of the University of Avenue. This is a dessert speciality café, but they also have some light lunches such as open sandwiches and quiches. Go here for desserts but, they are made with really fresh ingredients, you can taste definately this in their strawberry shortcake... I just thought I was hungry. You have sipered two light layers of delicious cakes through an airy pumped vanilla foam and the whole is with thin slices of strawberries that are only sweet w/o the usual sugar dusts can be found in this type of desserts. Why is everything so fresh and light tasting you ask? Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that these desserts are based on the recipes of a famous pastry cook in Japan and they like their candy to be part of la dolce vida – portions are smaller then what you want in the cheesecake factory, for example, but who really want to sleep after dessert? You want to eat something and feel like the nights still young and your waist is not for nothing! I bought some of their chocolate-covered almonds and they are also delicious – if You then satisfy the texture of cocoa nibs these almonds, they are more crisp than your run of the Kirkland mill brand, almost toffee-ish. The Tiramisu here is also good – it is presented in a clear oval plate for you to appreciate the chocolate and cream layers and dust with the necessary cocoa. But really, if you go here, try the cream puffs – the cream is just creamy enough, the bowl is crisp and thin and chew all at once and when you finish I hope you go for a to share with a friend because they desserts for you to find in the sweetest white box with a sticker of a birthday cake and if you go home wake up to put it in the next morning, you can put it in your fridge
This is a sweet little bakery in Palo Alto. The cakes are well presented and the café is well maintained. Everything looks so beautiful and delicious, but then look at the prices and go mine! I dared for the strawberry rtiramisu and a latte. The Tiramisu came in an oval-shaped bowl, with strawberries above. It tasted not like Tiramisu, but rather like a strawberry shortcake. Although I was full, I wish there was more! Especially after he spilled $5 for it! Next time I'll try the cream dolls. They looked good.
Satura cakes proud of its natural, fresh ingredients. the desserts are combined with the finest detail, and the taste is not disappointed (I tried both strawberry shortcake and cheesecake). prices are slightly higher than the average, which is expected in view of the quality behind the desserts. his great place to hang out with friends while eating a bite.
This small bakery along the university offers delicious desserts and drinks, but at a premium. The portions they offer can be severely finished in 2 bites. And for about $5 per dessert, it makes you wonder if it was worth it. The presentation of desserts is very clean and excellent and taste is definitely nothing to complain. It's just the price that's hard to stomach. I want to try the cream puppets next time. I'm starting to save now.
I’m always amazed at how much more everything costs in Palo Alto and the pastries are no exception. Satura is bright little bakery that makes you feel happy when you go inside with the bright colors and bountiful amount of cakes before your eyes – that is until you decide you want to try 3 different pieces of cake and it’s going to cost you 15 bucks. Don’t get me wrong, the cakes do taste good, but I feel like I should get twice as much cake for those prices (they seem to avg. $4-5 bucks). 1 madeleine costs 2 bucks! Nevertheless if you want to try to impress someone with some fine cakery, then check it out.
