After a long time, I was back at the trout farm. Again we were very satisfied! The menu is very small, but you know what to eat: a delicious soup with inlay on the way, then the roast trout and, of course, the welfen food! The ambience is not the hit, but who goes there knows about the few but very good foods and the very nice and friendly service. Who wants to sit outside can do this on the beautiful terrace under trees. We will surely come back!
The restaurant is specialized in trout dishes, but there are also alternatives without fish. We will visit the restauran next summer to stay on the terrace.
Family-run restaurant where nothing has changed for decades. Located outside the city (Forellenzucht), therefore a car including dedicated driver is of advantage. I've been dragged by my parents here as a kid. So always feel a little like I'm getting out of my time machine when I'm here again. Anyone who puts on a chic ambience is here at the absolutely wrong address. There is, however, an outdoor terrace where it can be nice in the summer. Not necessarily the best choice for the romantic phase in a relationship, rather something for the advanced years of marriage. Nor for long evenings, the opening hours are too short. Very good for families. Children (and lazy people) will also like to get their trout ready to eat. You come here for dinner, and that's all over again. In my kitchen at home I can prepare trout at most differently, but by no means better. In fact, I was hungry during the writing of this review.
Fish scissors: Not far from the motorway exit Sennelager, towards Neuhaus Castle, you will find behind the highway bridge in a field a large sign of trout . A narrow but asphalted path leads through a tunnel directly to the farm. Already in the garden you can see that the work is done with heart and care. Sufficient parking is available. The restaurant is simply but nicely furnished. Here a lot has changed over my last visit (a few years ago). In the guest room some very beautiful, large-format pictures are painted by the hostess himself. Speciality of the house is the fresh Senneforelle. It is prepared completely fresh immediately before the cooking process. Filled on request. Now in the asparagus season there were local asparagus as a supplement. The pound was cheaper at the price than today in some vegetable shop where one is held from the purchase with minimum wage arguments. The small terrace invites you to enjoy the delicious food. I plan the next visit for the evening, together with friends.
