Captain White Seafood City - Oxon Hill

I have followed Captain Whites since a lil girl, down at the SW wharf. And when they moved I continued to follow them. They have the best crabs and seafood and steam them to perfection if needed. The staff are friendly and they make us the customers feel like family. Thank you for finding a new home with free parking.

Captain White’s Seafood is the best! It’s easy to call in to place an order. They always have great deals and post the prices on Facebook. The crabs are fresh and they cook them to perfection, so tasty! The parking is a plus and the staff is very friendly. Love coming here for the crabs and fresh seafood. Thank you!

Great selection of blue crab, fresh caught shrimp and wife favorite lobster tails!!! Reasonably priced

I can't believe I am only giving Captain White's 2 stars. The people have always been nice, and it's my usual go-to place for crabs. I've been eating steamed Chesapeake Bay crabs for 40+ years (95% from Capt White's at the wharf), and this was the first time I ever saw crabs steamed WRONG. The person doing the streaming put the seasoning on AFTER the crabs were cooked. Huh? You don't eat the shells! It would be like putting steak or rib rub on after you cooked it! The flavor of the seasoning would not be infused into the meat. Why I asked about this, he looked at me like I had 2 heads, so I guess that was how he was instructed to cook them. For the past 20 years, I have lived in Western PA where you can't get fresh crabs. I come down once a year to visit family and eat delicious steamed crabs. This year I got crabs that were meh.

I went to Captain White’s to get some crabs for a function. Didn’t know that they stopped cooking live crabs at seven. Decided to talk to the gentleman handling the cooking part not only was he rude and very dismissive. To add to the insult I spoke to Dave supposedly one of the managers, and he was just as dismissive as his employee. I see why the gentleman responded and acted the way he did. Money spend anywhere. From now on, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I just don’t pay for good quality. I paid to be treated with respect.
