Bidrage med feedbackJust a simple classic American Diner. Good food, good service, and good prices though the place is a bit dated and the bathrooms could use some TLC but they are always clean and functional. Personly I love the Kernals loaded favorite breakfast platter withhashbrowns, eggs, peppers, onions, sausage, ham and cheese.
I've had lunch here twice recently and both times the food tasted great. I had a fantastic BLT and I also tried a soup that was delicious. If you visit during peak meal times, expect it to be busy. The locals love this place! It feels like time-travelingback several decades as the entire building inside and out could use a serious update, but maybe that's part of the charm....thefood more than makes up for your disappointment in the appearance of the restaurant.
We stopped here to feed a hungry runner after a cross country race at Brooktree golf course. The place is pretty old school but in a good way...mostly. our waitress was quick and pleasant and the food was good. My family had breakfasts for dinner. They 'reodd that way. The breakfasts (blueberry pancakes and ham with a cup of potato dumpling soup) were large portions that satisfiedeven a 13 year old. He said it was very good. My 9 year old had the classic breakfast and ate every last scrap of it and alsoenjoyed his potato soup the best ever. I tried the potation soup and it was pretty bland but he enjoyed it. I had theBattered cod basket. The cod was pretty small and there were only two but they were delicious and the fries might be the bestI 've had ever. The only bump in the service was the cashier who was pretty dour but she did say thank you. We 'll be back totry something else on the menu next year after races.
Had to get some desserts to go! With 15 different kinds of homemade pies and muffins to choose from. Breakfast served all day and a great cup of coffee. Great service Kenzie G!
We were on a two week road trip and stopped at Kernel Restaurant for breakfast. Service was great and food was just as great. Like most small towns there were a few tables pushed together in the middle of the dining room where the local boys gather. They have great selections on the Senior part of the menu. We loved it.
