Won Ton House Restaurant - Ottawa

Old fashioned place with surprisingly good (by Ottawa standards) food.Looks like it will be a typical greasy westernized pseudo-Cantonese grub, but in reality they deliver a mix of westernized and more authentic flavours with fresh veggies, large portions and reasonable price.Service is both friendly and professional.Much recommended.

This is the go-to place for Chinese food in Ottawa. I have been a loyal customer for 25 years. If you're unsure of what to order, simply ask Thomas or Vicky for their recommendations, you won't be disappointed.

Consistently good, and only getting more delicious. [EDIT July 2014: Been to WTH a number of times this year, and they're on a real roll. The service continues to be super personable and friendly, but they're really hitting it out of the park these days with the food. Lemon chicken, General Tao's tofu, and chicken with hot black bean sauce stand out as especially fantastic. <br/ <br/ My family has been coming here for years and it is reliably tasty, with friendly and reliable service. The special won ton soup is my favourite, as well as their General Tao's tofu.

Butterfly shrimps were too strongly baked and greasy; sweet 'n acidic ribs were also overly coated with excessively sweet red gel. They are still not very environmentally friendly in polyfoam containers. I found several Chinese restaurants in Ottawa that I prefer about Wonton House.

We've been calling WonTonHouse for the first time tonight. Order 5 dishes: egg rolls, beef ginger, mushroom chow my, veg chow my, and sweet and sour chicken balls. Everything was delicious. Good size and reasonable prices. We were very impressed by the fast delivery service. We found our new way to the Chinese restaurant!
